samsung copied SE's three way slider for the video/camera/preview.
And its UI is derived from nokia's.
Samsung is a real copy-cat.

only bad review i've seen is from T3 (i disagree with what i think from that mag).
..
every other reviews have been fab!

T3 said it was way too slow and the phone got only 2 stars (out of five), sure, it's innovative, but I'm not sure I'm ready to sacrifice speed to innovation.

David, 19 Aug 2008I used to be a Samsung phone user b4.. i gave it up for one... morewell you must just be one very bad user of samsung phones. I ahve had 3 samsung phones now and not one of them has lagged at all.

this phone really makes me thinks that nokia and SE is left behind. i used to like SE phone's alot. but these days, they arent producing any phone that can impress me.
at first i thought it looks like nokia too. but i read some of the comments, and i am agree with them. all sliders phone looks quite the same. but i dont think it looks like N95, N95 looks more like a weopon than a cellphone to me. its so damn BIG. INNOV8 is smaller and the design is alot better.
but now i got some problem. i dont know when is it available at asia. i cant wait to get it. can anyone help me with this? when is it available at asia market?

Oh my God Love at first sight. Its out on the 1st of September here in the UK at Carphone Warehouse for only £35 a month on Orange.
Gotta ebay my Nokia N95...

Got my phone yesterday!! and I love it. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen, some will be blurry if you don't hold the phone very steady so you people saying it's crap it just maybe be you!!!. When it connects to my wireless broadband the browser is rapid, downloading videos from youtube for fun. loads of applications and I'm finding out more and more as I use it. To say the ringtones is crap is just petty, who uses standard ringtones these days??????? every phone I here ringing has the person favourite song, a downloaded mp3. My brother has got the Nokia N95 and I admit they are similar but the samsung is just so much better, couldn't believe how slow the browser is on the N95 compared to my samsung!! Nokia you've been over taken!!

I just got my Samsung i8510 16GB model today.
What a load of rubblish, all the waiting for it, for what?
Lot of the funtions of the phone are based on the Nokia N95 but not as good, no Voice comm. - The tones on the phone are Samsung standard ones. Google maps comes up with an error.
No proper phone manual, just a 5 page quick start guide. No phone manual on Samsungmobile.com website! What a poor start!
Some of the software on the phone, you need to buy extra licences to make the programs work properly!
I was not impressed with 8 mega pixel Camera, more like 5 mega pixel quality. No Red Eye correction. The anti shake mode doesn't make much differences to the quality on the photos, still blurr a bit. The camera is slow to respond at times. The video mode is not very good indoors, very grainy.
I will let you make your own mind up about this phone!
My phone will be going back to the shop tomorrow.

Thanks for the preview but...
You wrote you upsampled images from the other 2 phones to 8 MPX as it would represent printed results. Well, this is bul---t, sorry.
Unless you print really LARGE posters.
Everyday printouts (picture card size and 13x18 cm) will look equal from 5 MPX or even from 2 MPX. What will make the difference is quality of sensor and lenses, firmware (internal processing software) etc. NOT number of pixels. It is a well known fact from higher grade cameras that upgrading the sensor with more pixels without upgrading its technology and lenses will deteriorate quality. We are talking about noise, image resolution (not size but real resolution in lines per mm percepted as sharpness), dynamic range.
So maybe in the case of INNOV8 upgraded was not only the sensor density but also its quality along with lenses. But upsampling other 2 images was not correct. I bet you wouldn't see a difference on 10x15 cm printouts between the two Samsung cameras. iPhone is another story with its poor camera, but what makes it poor is not the fact it has 2 MPX only but all the rest I wrote about above.
