Poco F6 review

It seems that non of the Xiaomi phones are capable of decent battery performance, at least for the last two years. Some exceptions are maybe the Xiaomi 14 who does better. The rest hovers around the 10 hours of active user score while having 5000 mAh batteries or more. So do we need to understand that their so called hyper efficient HyperOS is nothing more than a marketing lie? I've been playing with such a HyperOS equipped device but it was not smoother, faster or more energy efficient than the previous MIUI OS. I still like devices from that brand but I would not buy any for the battery reason only. Don't want to carry around a charger or external battery to get through the day, especially given the fact that this was never an issue before.

Already bought my titanium 512gb version on release day before it sold out. For 295 and a free mi band 8. Best smartphone deal of the year!! 😁

Anders, 28 May 2024Garbage battery life (Xiaomi used to have good battery!!) ... moreAh yes it's always Anders complaining again. You can even give him the S24 Ultra and he can find ways to complain - like it has no MicroSD card and headphone jack and useless periscope zoom etc. Except that isn't from a Chinese brand.

it's better to buy this than the F6 Pro.. all doing good except battery life.

Strawhat, 29 May 2024I think xiaomi make a mistake to up the resolution from 108... moreI dont think so, on YouTube there are lots of videos scattered about battery tests, for example Poco X6 Pro with Nothing Phone 2a because I haven't found a Poco F6 test yet. On the GSMArena X6 Pro battery test is average while the Nothing 2a has one of the highest on the GSMArena test yet on YouTube this phone drained faster than X6 Pro.

jellydaemon, 28 May 2024Quite hilarious that many people were sh***ing about the X6... moreI've been using Redmi K50i for two years. I wanted to buy K70 when launched in India, instead they launched Poco F6. Now, I am confused which one to buy among F6 or X6 pro?
            What do you recommend?

'The primary camera on the back now employs a 50MP Sony sensor in place of the 64MP OmniVision one of the predecessor. The overall sensor size is more or less the same , though - 1/1.95" vs. 1/2.0", so it will be the Lytia stacked design that will be the source of improvements, not just sheer dimensions.'

This seems to imply that the Omnivision 64MP OV64b is not stacked but isn't it also a stacked sensor? My understanding is that nearly all smartphone camera sensors have been stacked for the last number of years at least

Pumpino, 28 May 2024The camera processing seems better than the F6 Pro, but the... moreI don't think so. Both look terrible with the oil paint effect. The blame might be the ISPs inside the Snapdragon SoCs. I guess the ISPs are essentially the same since both are 8 Gen.

this review proven that no one had reason to buy galaxy a55 with inferior soc + poor display and poor 5g signal reception. the list go on and on...

IpsDisplay, 28 May 2024Hyper OS is a battery draining mess What is Xiaomi gonna... moreHyperOS and memeUI are twins that wear different t-shirts.
In the end, both are dumb and useless.
Should make UI that is not power hungry nor reminds of iOS.

                      Gsmarena staff ...

                      All camera sensors are stacked.
Stacked means one layer above another.
This has nothing to do with exmor T.
LYTIA is not name to refer to Exmor T class of sensors.
LYTIA means exmor for mobile. Nothing more.

Xiaomi does not pay for this tech even to use on €1500 device, let alone the €400 one.

                      Again:

                      - lyt500, lyt600, lyt700, lyt808, lyt900 are exmor RS.
                      - lyt800 , lyt T808 are exmor T (also the unknown sensor used by iphone 15/15+)

The, 29 May 2024Well,it looks like I did the right thing to move away from ... moreThe price/performance ratio of the Iqoo Neo 8 is so good, its almost the same with the Poco X6 Pro too.

Well im not sure what do you guys think about the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the Dimensity 8300 Ultra but I'd say that both chipset is on par with each other.

Well,it looks like I did the right thing to move away from Xiaomi phones. Not because they're bad,but the amount of phones that they release with average battery life is disappointing.

I just ordered an Iqoo Neo 8 and I can't wait to own it.
Its got a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from last year and its got Android 13 because it was released last year but the price is only about 269 dollars(which is RM1267 in my country). Its a really good but underrated phone.

I think xiaomi make a mistake to up the resolution from 1080 to 1220p, I assume bad screen efficiency, and bad software optimization.

The performance findings are very similar to the Chinese reviews. The snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is still the superior processor compared to the 8s gen 3 but not a massive difference. The 8 Gen 2 is also more expensive though so most companies will favor the newer 8sgen3 processor. It's a bit disappointing that the battery life is basically only around the same as the F6 pro given the F6 has a lower resolution screen. Good phone overall but apart from the processor there isn't many other significant improvements over the Poco F5

jellydaemon, 28 May 2024Quite hilarious that many people were sh***ing about the X6... moreI know, right?! People go on and on about how the X6 Pro supposedly has a subpar battery life, poor thermals and how Snapdragon is better than Mediatek. Well, either the numbers are lying or Xiaomi is getting worse with optimisation.

At the time of this writing, I'm really struggling to see any meaningful difference between the F6 and X6 Pro that should warrant the extra price.

jellydaemon, 28 May 2024Quite hilarious that many people were sh***ing about the X6... moreI wouldn't think about F6 if i has x6 pro in my possession. It is amazing device, enjoy.

Quite hilarious that many people were sh***ing about the X6 Pro's battery life, that MediaTek CPUs are very bad and that we should wait for the F6 and this is what we get.
I don't think Xiaomi knows how to make an energy efficient OS.
Make no mistake, the specs are really good but it doesn't really feel like an upgrade from the X6 Pro and the battery seems to only get worse.
I can't help it but to feel disappointed.

I was going to buy the F6 or the F6 Pro cause I really wanted to give them a try but idk, I'm having second thoughts now. Hopefully Xiaomi will fix the battery draining issues in the F6 line but for now I'm gonna keep my X6 Pro for a while.

The camera processing seems better than the F6 Pro, but the photos don't look natural to me. Poor battery life and disappointing camera performance from day one.

custom rom is the way for this phone to shine i just hope it grows overtime really decent phone for its price my mi 9t pro is retiring with a smile
