Pacifist, 13 Feb 2025i was the one writing anonymously about my experience with ... morehaha alright, so I have already turned off image enhancement using natural one. issue I had was at nighttime if there is sudden flash of light coming on the scene the camera will turn off night mode, exposure settings or something and pics would be extremely dark. If there is no sudden flashing light from any other light source pics would come out fine, I used always on flash to circumvent this issue. Otherwise no complains, slo-mo works good, and this time I will not be testing it underwater, as already lost my 11 pro to it.

well i was determined to fix the camera issue, and i think i fixed mine. setting the picture mode (tapping the three intersecting circles, in the lower right area) to natural light fixed everything. now the pictures look normal. i can't believe them, you have to set something to get notmal pictures.. oh well. try it see if it works for you, it fixed my florescent light issue.

UI is smooth, bloat can be uninstalled, camera is fine sometimes it misses to detect lighting conditions so exposure is off, otherwise all is good, nighttime and stability is good, loving telephoto module. My palm sometimes registers false touches around the edges but its not annoying, as its rare. and thumb can reach opposite side too. Wooden back is somewhat slippery than the fake leather back but its unique. One more thing someone said about clicky noise when shaking phone, some forums said its OIS hardware making noise so I guess I shouldn't be worried.

i don't know between the two. i have smallish hands, and I can't see myself wrangling the normal size phones anymore, so personally i would still get the Motorola. assuming both are 16gb 1tb and sell for similar price, i would recommend the oneplus, while you do lose the better selfie, and the smart connect software, you gain the better cpu/gpu, better screen and android 18 when it comes out. overall the differences seem to be minor, you will be getting a brilliant phone whichever way you chose.
i haven't used the oneplus so take my opinion with a grain of salt ❤️

Pantone color peach one is nice too I've seen it in showroom but never held the wooden one. And probably some case. I don't like having screen guards on so there's that.

Jamesthe1st, 29 Jan 2025Thank you very much for your comprehensive, elaborate reply... morethe wood back has gold (or is it silver?) frame, and the black leather has black frame, and the included plastic case is whitish with the wood, and grayish with the leather.
in terms of feel, just like it's curved screen, the back curves by a similar amount. the feel of holding it is incredible. I've never held a better phone. there is nothing better than the leather (it's leather simulation, i think silicone). even the huawei p70 ultra, which has a leather (simulation) back, doesn't come close. it is very grippy, kind of like those textured silicone steering wheel covers, but a lot more elegant and refined. honestly i fell in love with the phone when i held it in a showroom, before i knew anything about its features.
I have the black leather back, and my sister has the wood back. that is how i know about them. both of us use aftermarket silicone cases, for protection and to make using the phone easier (prevents accidental touching).
If i am honest, my skin oil melts rubber. I have had problem with computer mice, and still do. so I would've wanted to buy the wood back, but it wasn't available when i bought the phone. this phone is probably silicone and not rubber, but the only way to truly find out is to touch it with a soldering iron, if it melts it's rubber, and if it doesn't then it's silicone, but i don't want to do that 😅
there is a peach leather one, but I think it is a special edition or something as i can't find it on sale.

I guess I'm willing to take risks associated with curved display. Now if you wouldn't mind me asking another question, which back do you use, vegan leather or wooden one. And which one is better looking and feel? Thanks

Jamesthe1st, 23 Jan 2025I wonder about differences in 50 ultra and honor 200 pro. M... moreI have this phone, the bad stuff;
1. Edge screen, it is wonderful to look at and to hold, but useless to use, especially one handed. because the lower part of your thumb will definitely touch the keyboard when you type. to solve this, I use a good silicone case for protection which adds about 1.5-2mm to the width (phone total width now is 75.5mm). this will keep your thumb from touching the screen.
2. Camera; it is very temperamental. most of my indoor pictures with don't look that great especially when there is lowish light. when switching between cameras the white balance changes sometimes, I think its white balance sensor is a bit iffy.
3. Wireless charging; it claims 50w wireless charger with motorola specific charger, but you cannot find it anywhere. they simply don't sell it. it did charge wirelessly at 5w and at 15w (with chargers from ikea and aliexpress respectively). It doesn't have qi2 magnets.
4. Rattling, there is a rattle when you shake the phone. when i try to use the main cam or the telephoto cam it doesn't rattle as much. I guess their stabilization elements rattles when they are not powered on. don't know how this will affect it in the long run. I've tried one in a showroom and it does the same.
The good stuff;
1. Tough; this sucker is tough despite the elegant look. I've dropped it on an edge, which struck the screen directly, and nothing happened.
2. Fast charging. I can charge at 80w (it does support 120w, but if you don't enable the feature it will charge at 80w, then drops down to 40w for the rest of the charging cycle).
3. 1tb; f* your data hording, this phone can take it. absolutely amazing.
4. Camera; the low light mode (which stacks images to increase the light) is phenomenal. I mean I've never seen better pictures. Fast action shots can be taken easily, and high speed videos have a very nice UI that lets you choose which part to speed up and which to keep at normal speed.
5. Motorola Smart Connect; connect wirelessly (effortlessly), then drag and drop files from the pc to the phone. a solution that finally works. you can do a lot more with it, but that is really what i need (check it out it is really amazing).
6. You name it, it has it; they have jammed a lot of features in this phone, if it didn't brake down unexpectedly, I think i will get 6+ year out of it easily. (my previous low mid ranger phone got used and abused for about 6 years).
IP rating is only for design, not usage. they have designed the phone to withstand water, but they don't guarantee that, no phone company does.
Would i buy it again, yes. Are there any other phones that I would consider? sure, but this one is a winner for me. ps; I got it for around 600 euros.

I wonder about differences in 50 ultra and honor 200 pro. Moto has clean android, better photos, periscope zoom, IP 68. Honor has better video capabilities, but night video not so good, IP 65, less service stores. My question is which one should I prefer if camera performance and screen are my priorities.

I do not recommend any Motorola devices. I had an Edge 20 Pro, and after a year, both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi stopped working, as happened to many users of this model. Motorola never took responsibility for this defect.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2024This phone costs 550e in China and it's already losing... moreIt's losing on design?:)))) to what? Those "gorgeous" vivo poco mocos?:)) Or oneplus even? that look like they were designed by an eight year old after seeing a sci-fi movie?
Otoh the way you people talk about chipset performance and software support as if you are some kind of a hackerman, it makes sense that you prefer vivopocooneplus design over this, with those camera slabs, it probably help your tech larp
If you're gonna pay close to a 1000$ on a phone, you could and should have another device for playing games on
Just saw the oneplus 13, the alleged master of all phones, what an exquisite design it wasn't
Truly what a kid thinks of technology, no subtlety at all
