Minu, 17 Jul 2024Do notice the fact that it's technically impossible to... moreI am very aware of this. As I've said earlier, that is one of the drawbacks of have a metal back, no wireless charging.

Hemedans, 17 Jul 2024I answer that already, This phone scored 11K at top and ... moreI accept that 8gen2 and 8gen3 are more efficient than 7300. But we are talking about 7+gen3 here and it is already getting beaten by 7300 in sustained cpu there's not even a discussion there so all these talk about 720 being better than A78 did not matter here. Now if we take your 7.5watt sustained load into account and add it with around 1 watt display uses. Then 5000mah battery will only last 2 hours. I have only ever seen 4watts being handeled correctly anything above and phone becomes too hot. I don't even know how hot phone becomes at 7.5watt.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2024my nord 2 battery after 2,5 years no fast charge went bad a... moreAnd how much do you use your phone? Heavy usage my one plus 8 battery started degrading after a year. My xiaomi 12tpro has had more usage than the one plus and probably at around 80% battery health. Also it could be your cable needs replacing.. It has to be a oneplus fast charge cable too because it has proprietary connections so a normal USB cable won't support oneplus fast charge.

How close in price is this compared to snapdragon 8Sgen3 devices? If its similar price I'd choose an 8Sgen3 equipped phone.

DigBick, 17 Jul 2024You don't understand the full picture. During a sustai... moreAnd 65% score I mentioned for poco X6 pro was for wild life extreme test, regular wild life test is 78% for poco x6 pro.

DigBick, 17 Jul 2024You don't understand the full picture. During a sustai... moreI answer that already,

This phone scored 11K at top and 6K sustained, that 6K score is what you get when gaming.

Also this phone can sustain 7.5W as tested by many reputable reviewers and D8300, 8 gen 2, 8 gen 3, 8s gen 3 etc aren't far from it sustain around same figure, specific D8300 sustain around 6.4W in Genshini.

Overall in Gaming you get better perfomance in 7+ gen 3 over D8300 at expense of using more power.

Check Geekerwan na Taobao in youtube, no need to guess when we have all data to compare.

And yes This soc or any other higheend soc will soundly Beat dimensity 7300 at 2W, remember at 2W modern soc will use Cortex A720 which is more efficient than A78, there is a reason why all flagship and these Enthuasist phones have better battery life Than midrange while having more power hungry things like modems, Display etc

DigBick, 17 Jul 2024You don't understand the full picture. During a sustai... moreWhatever the sustained thermal dissipation capacity is (which is usually 6-7 watts rather than 3-4 watts), a more powerful GPU (by virtue of higher number of compute units) will yield more performance than a smaller GPU. This usually holds true for consumption as low as 1 watt.

Hemedans, 17 Jul 2024All highend gpu are like that, including Dimensity 8300, 93... moreYou don't understand the full picture. During a sustained gaming session you can only use 3~4 watts before phone becomes too hot to hold. And that is divided between cpu and gpu. So the Gpu only have 2 watt available to it. Can you enthusiast gpu beat 7300 at 2watt is the question and the answer is no.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 202412r is the most refined. And that's the same software ... moreMay be good or bad, but there's no bbk anymore. Only oppo and vivo. maybe oppo-oneplus-realme use the same skin in future (not that they are so different now) but we probably won't see vivo or iqoo phones with a UI similar to these 3.

my nord 2 battery after 2,5 years no fast charge went bad and warranty went out, last time im buying oneplus if this quality bad.

DigBick, 17 Jul 2024That's why I said CPU and not GPU. And Gpu test alone ... moreAll highend gpu are like that, including Dimensity 8300, 9300 etc Geekerwan, Taobao and many reviewers tested these soc so it's not secret. Poco X6 pro would reach 45C+ same ballpark as other top midrange/Highend. If you don't want that then go buy Sd 7 gen 3 or Dimensity 7300 those are made for average users, these are Enthuasist soc.

I ain't shocked at the 'poor' thermal performance - the phone has a metal back, which would obviously get hotter, but conducts heat out far better.

John, 16 Jul 2024My dream phone: - probably Oneplus/Realme/Oppo because I... moreAsking for too much buddy. The only phone I can think of that properly ticks nearly all the boxes is the V30 Pro.

Phones aren't compact nor have metal builds anymore because that's not the trend anymore, if all phones have glass builds it's easier for the companies as they get to import the same raw materials and have lower costs as a result. Compact phones are costly as is and then adding 3 cameras is super difficult, Sony's "Flagship" compact phones tend to not have 3 cameras lol. I can only think of Xiaomi's 14 and Apple's 15 Pro as fully fledged flagships that happen to be small, the S24 is more like flagship killer at flagship price and the Pixel 8 is a hundred bucks too expensive even with discounts.

Metal builds also usually have worse thermal performance usually, just look at this phone. The HTC One series like the M8 and M9 were notorious for their poor thermals.

You gotta wait 2 or so more years just to see triple cameras, decent performance and good battery in midrangers, let alone midrange compact phones.

Besides, nearly everyone prefers big phones or big phones have the best features so they go for them, it's tough to make a compact phone knowing only a small amount of people will buy it and if they cram everything in it, it would be too expensive for people to buy. Only Apple and Xiaomi seem to have kind of cracked the code. The 14 was the biggest glow up and the 15 Pro continues the tradition of being the best compact phone out there, if you can ignore the battery.

Oh and btw, have you held one of these "big" phones? Except for Samsung and Sony's new flagships, they're mostly manageable, unless you have super small hands then yeah I understand. I held a Oneplus 10R and it was like holding a compact phone compared to my S22 Ultra, the 20:9 aspect ratio is utter perfection for a phone.

LoneOwl, 16 Jul 2024Just checked 12R on the official site. The only version av... moreThe price differential in my country is also around 30% (INR 32k for Nord 4 12/256 as compared to INR 42k for 12R 16/256 after all offers). But I'd still argue that 12R is more value for money.

The advantages you listed for Nord 4, the only one significant among these IMO is the flat display. Although long term software support is good to have, the sub-optimal component quality as usually seen in OP (and other chinese manufacturers) and the battery degradation (due to fast charging) would make phone usage beyond 3-4 years unlikely. As far as storage goes, 3.1 is fast enough for most needs.

On the other hand, the advantages 12R has over Nord 4 in practically every other department, makes it a no-brainer if budget allows.

In fact, for those with budget constraints, Nord CE4 makes a lot of sense, because you aren't really losing out much in day-to-day experience when compared to Nord 4.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 202412R is a buggy mess with its unreliable software.12r is the most refined. And that's the same software that will be on this one.

And for that guy who mentioned 6t having the same firmware, there are A LOT of similarities between 6t and OnePlus software design lately. In few years down the lane, all bbk phones may use one singular skin.

This is the worst throttling and stability score I've ever seen on a smartphone being reviewed in GSMArena.
