I seriously considered trading my Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro for the Ultra. With the trade, this would have cost about $225. I really like a lot about this, but it's a little larger and the pro is big already. The battery life is about the same. I don't use the advanced GPS features and have never had any issues with performance on my existing watch. The other issue for me was the new band style. Even with their throwing in a second band with the purchase, there are a limited variety of bands available. I have a number of bands that I've used with various Galaxy watches over the years and while the new attachment method looks more convenient, I didn't want to have to throw them all away. Even for only another $225, I just didn't see enough of an upgrade to make it worth it.

I found the section dealing with battery very creative lol. At least we know how much juice large corporations have and can spend our hard earned money accordingly. Short term gain/long term pain strategy at its very best.

Ahmed Ragab, 13 Aug 2024Actually the design is stolen from Huawie watch cyper Yeah no, absolutely not. Its Samsungs on old design used on the Gear Sport.

I did mot like the design initially first but it looks much better in real life and the "band stolen from Apple" is only on one of the three color choices. Compared to the Apple Watch Ultra, Samsungs Ultra watch in my opinion actually looks much better, less toy-like and more watch-like.

Arturro, 13 Aug 2024watch ultra test at a low level, you write that samsung cla... moreMIL-STD-810H low temperature testing requires it to be operational at -21°C or colder. They are mentioning its specs testing includes temperatures, so that would require it to be compliant with that. Here's what Samsung themselves say on their tech specs page:

Galaxy Watch Ultra withstands temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C while being worn on the wrist, based on results from internal lab tests conducted by Samsung. Actual performance may vary depending on the environment where it is used. In very high or low temperatures, charging may be blocked, certain functions may be automatically terminated or unavailable, or the watch may shut down automatically for safety. Additionally, battery performance can be adversely affected at low temperatures.

It is fairly safe to say, you will freeze to death long before your watch fails. Regarding the MIL-STD testing standards; as a comparison, the Galaxy Xcover7 doesn't specifically mention testing against temperature requirements, so it is safe to assume it isn't tested to withstand at least -21°C.

The MIL-STD environmental testing limits includes a lot of variables, based on why type of device and for what extreme location it is intended for. The most extreme being something like -70°C. Unfortunately these segmentations of the tests obviously leaves it open for manufacturers to cherry pick tests and call it MIL-STD compliant.

People with Ultra watches usually are not very nice. Will see if this prejudices also works for Samsungs Ultra Watch. Pretty sure it does, since, when you get it, you usually arent into sport, but into expensive tech gadgets that often even look worse than the cheaper counterparts. As for me, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is one of the ugliest Smart Watches ive ever seen. A round faceplate on a suqare body. large pertruding bezel all around and a band that is copied from apple...really, if you think of buying this thing, think again please.

I dont think that AGEs are accurate because i like your description "Glycation tracking, a fancy way of saying the Watch Ultra can track your blood sugar levels, isn't restricted to Samsung phones only. It measures it while you are asleep. It gives you an AGEs Index that indicates your current metabolic health." yes but why doing fasting OMAD and avoiding sugar for days, having low blood pressure etc etc still is in the red zone? this havent sense at all
                        have someone tested it?

Overall Amazing watch, i love the size fits perfect on my wrist. Battery life is amazing usually 65%+ left each night. Finally a real Apple watch competitor.

The other reason is obviously, they needed more room for sensors, so things had to spread out a bit.

Lastly, it's a watch design. It is, as I have already proven by referencing eleven years old rectangular watches by Samsung, not an Apple IP or innovation.

It's been about 20-25 years since Apple last made something innovative. Since then, they've been riding the wave of disinformation, racism and lies.

The watch is too big and the battery you need to charge frequently. The band for the watch is a joke! Maybe if you had wrists like a tree trunk it would be ok.

watch ultra test at a low level, you write that samsung claims that the watch can operate at temperatures from -20 to 50 and the truth is that this is the storage temperature, and it can operate at temperatures from 0 degrees to 30 degrees, so it's a lie and you won't even check it.

At this price, the watch should work flawless, but it is not the case!
