At the beginning I was a little bit suspicious about it, but when I began to use it I was surprised!! The device is really good and the performance is awesome. The only thing about it is that operates a little bit different of my older one (Oppo Find X5 Pro), so I have to relearn how to use it, but no problem at all!!

Great first look – appreciate the detailed breakdown!
The Pixel 9 Pro XL definitely feels like Google’s most serious attempt at competing with the top flagship phones. The dual-size Pro strategy makes sense, and the hardware upgrades (finally a 42MP front cam!) are impressive.
I’m particularly curious how it stacks up against the next Galaxy Ultra – specs alone aren’t everything. For anyone interested, we’ve already lined up a full side-by-side comparison of the Pixel 9 Pro XL vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra here:

Let’s see how Google’s AI push holds up against Samsung’s refinements this year.

I don't understand why oil painting like details are considered now as something good or normal. It's the same in iPhone,mi 14 ultra, many other flagship phones. Seems Vivo processing is the exclusion. Maybe there are others I don't know. But the common consensus is confusing for me.

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2024I'd like to see Dimensity 8300 on future Pixel 9a. 😎I highly doubt that will happen. No pixel ever had a Dimensity chipset.
Don't think they're going to start now.

wrrnt, 22 Sep 2024Can some one explain me what is it about display panel bein... moreThe display panels on pixels, galaxys and iphones are all 8bit. Although the HDR contents need 10 bit displays to show you all colors, the FRC can also do the job, it means you can watch HDR contents on 8bit displays. Many monitors also do the same, and you can't tell the difference with a native 10 bit especially on such a small screen.(of course it's for cutting the price and not for a better product but it's not a deal breaker for 99.9% of people)

Anton .el PAPI., 24 Aug 2024That's the Exynos 2400! I have news for you, Tensor G4... moreGoogle wanted to compete with Apple and Samsung in having a "premium" flagship that competes on specs and price, it also wanted to showcase this with an in-house designed SoC.
This is where it gets bizarre, instead of developing the potential of a nine core SoC Tensor G3 (as most 8 core configurations have already been released).
You can literally before release predict benchmarks if you know both configuration and process nm for that new phone.
The Tensor G4 is the UPGRADED Exynos 2200 with the latest cortices (eight not nine core)
Exynos 2200 January 2022
1x 2.8 GHz – Cortex-X2
3x 2.52 GHz – Cortex-A710
4x 1.82 GHz – Cortex-A510
TENSOR G4. August 2024
1x 3.1 GHz – Cortex-X4
3x 2.6 GHz – Cortex-A720
4x 1.92 GHz – Cortex-A520
Either the G5 "reverts" to a nine core SoC exploits that untapped potential...
Or Google does one of two things:
Go fully Snapdragon FLAGSHIP SoC...
Or continues its use of "upgraded" Octo core architecture.
Proof it's in the review, Motorola Edge 50 Ultra costs a lot less has posted better benchmarks both Geekbench 6 and Antutu just the SoC.
All in all the Tensor G4 ranks BELOW Apple A15 Bionic (September 2021) and Qualcomm midrange Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3.
Marginally better than the Tensor G3 .
You have to consider the price of the Google Pixel 9 fold SoC is nowhere near 2022 Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 performance yet cost $1899?
The Tensor G5 cannot be another under whelming SoC, chasing the performance of many mid rangers but costing more again... again

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Wake me up when Google gives us real hardware, not recycled... moreSome people obviously don't need a camera on a phone to be as good and prefer some other aspects.
I was having OnePlus 7 Pro a.k.a. the last flagship killer from OnePlus. It was practically perfect for me in everything but camera results. I couldn't rely on it, especially video shooting.
I am a family man with 2 young kids and a dog. I needed something better then that. I've tried OnePlus 10 Pro since i was really loving their software but it still had horrible results in reccording videos so i made my choice and for the first time i choose the Pixel. Pixel 7 to be exact.
That "compact-ish" phone was a great choice for me as i could rely on its main camera to do good in any situation.
I even end up buying the ultra expensive Xperia 1 V (in boring black) just to see if Sony still has it, because i still have their older but still fairly usable alpha a6000. But to my surprise, Pixel 7 was actually a more then in few situations better even its price is about 3 times less then Xperia 1 V. And i'm not talking just about camera results. Pixel 7 is overall a better phone minus some things like battery life and zoom capabilities obviously, but Pixel 7 has some minor issues like little stutters when scrolling after longer period of not using the phone and you have to play around with Android Doze to ensure you get all the notifications as they can sometimes be delayed if, again, you're not using your phone for longer period.
I was interested to buy vivo X100 Ultra soley because of the camera results, but unfortunatelly it's not available where i am.

Techgg, 30 Aug 2024Never did i assume that a pixel phone will hold the title o... moreIt's actually too bright. They probably went that high for bragging rights but in my opinion they went a notch too far. Because of that i have screen brightness set to manual as on automatic it can surprise me with the shire ammount of light coming out of display if i get into a room with a lot of lights, for example neon lights in a cnc lab where i work. It's really unconfortamble to look at when it's on maximum brightness.
