Anonymous, 16 Oct 2024Sometimes I wonder if you just want to troll or if this is ... moreSince you clearly didn't read my previous comment I'll just repost it here just so that you can correct your own misunderstanding, honey.
'Again, nobody in this world cares what you think macro should mean. The numbers are there but you're choosing to ignore them, and that's just your problem'
'Sony 90mm F2.8 Macro lens has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm. If you attach that to a 12MP full frame camera, say a7SIII, you would not be able to get magnify the subject as much as X200 Pro or Xperia VI. The only reason why many macro photos look impressively close to the subject is that a photographer uses a super high resolution sensor and sometimes pixel shift to maximise the resolution then crop them hard in post'
'Xperia 1 VI has a magnification ratio of 2:1 when the telephoto lens is set at 120mm. X100 Ultra has 3.4:1 for its 85mm telephoto lens, both numbers have been officially confirmed. Anything larger than 1:2 is a half macro and beyond 1:1 is a proper macro'
Too hard for you to understand? Go get a real camera, do some research and start shooting!

Anonymous, 16 Oct 2024Sometimes I wonder if you just want to troll or if this is ... moreIt's funny that you decided to ignore EVERYTHING what other people said to you including the official magnification ratio, the definition of a macro lens, why macro shots taken by a dedicated camera are seemingly a lot closer to the subject, etc.
"Macro would make eye of frog or lizard take half of the frame"
Yeah, and you still decided to slander Vivo when X100 Ultra managed to fill the entire frame with a tiny spider. At least be consistent with your claim if you know you're talking rubbish.

Ottonis, 16 Oct 2024The X200pro seems to be THE cameraphone to beat in 2025! I ... moreI have Vivo X100 Ultra.
It uses AI processing.
It uses AI processing only in dark places and big zooms.
I use the 200MP 85mm sensor a lot for landscape photography and it has amazing big pixels.
Vivo X100 Ultra uses AI processing and normal processing.
It's all automatic, but in pro mode, Vivo X100 Ultra uses 0 AI processing, even in dark places.
It's pretty noisy, but I prefer normal image processing.
Beautiful big pixels, when you crop.
AI processing looks like a chalkboard painting and AI processing deletes small details, like hair and knuckles.
(1 guy exposed phone AI cameras in a YouTube video.)
That’s why I bought Vivo X100 Ultra, because amazing 200MP 85mm landscape photos.
I love landscape photography and 3.7X zoom is perfection!!!!!
I don’t use the 23mm 1 inch 50MP sensor for landscape photography.
I don’t like wide photos.
Standard Telephoto zooms are amazing for landscape photography in my opinion.
I do use the 50MP sensor of course, but mostly the 200MP sensor.
For close ups and landscape photography.
The 200MP sensor is the king in this phone.
Sorry Sony, but ISOCELL won this time.
Hopefully no typos.

I'm using the European version of Apple's USB-DAC dongle, which has volume issues due to voltage limitations that the EU imposed to "protect" people's hearing (and the UK somehow gets this inferior version despite not being part of the EU?).

Main camera night time video sample is nothing spectacular. Nothing we haven't seen before, aggressive frame stacking and texture sharpening, many phones can match that, even those even from two years ago. But telephoto is a surprise, it's almost good as the main camera.

Nick Tegrataker, 15 Oct 2024"You would get same photo using the 23mm"
Don&... moreSometimes I wonder if you just want to troll or if this is IQ issues . Because even child would have understood my comment.
Anyway ...
What I say it is nothing gsmarena calls macto is macro photography.
Coming close enough to create background blur is not macro.
Macro would make eye of frog or lizard take half of the frame.
And to achieve these same samples posted, the 23mm camera would do it too.
Phone makers call macro when it is not.
Site endorses this speech.
Some here defend as true.

ashrobb, 14 Oct 2024The telephoto is crazy. Very sharp portraits.Size only matter on the depth of field. What it matters is the quality of photo diodes, regardless the size.

The X200pro seems to be THE cameraphone to beat in 2025! I can't wait to see what the 6000 mAh batter alongside the new Dimensity SoC which promises higher effiency from the last generation, will do in terms of battery life. This could easily become the new chart-topper.
And then of course the cameras. I think it's been a smart move to get the main camera slightly smaller and make up for the smaller area by increasing aperture and implementing new sensor technology that will improve on SNR, DR and image capturing speed.By that they can keep the overall size and heft of the camera island more compact, while even improving the video capabilities.
The 1/1.4" tele-module is also a super-exciting piece of hardware. For 85mm (equiv.) tele lengths, this will be the most light-sensitive and most detailed tele sensor ever found in any phone.
That being said, there are a few caveats:
1. Vivo's signal processing once again has a weak spot in the red channel were it oversaturates almost all the time, in particular in low light scenes. This has been a known problem in vivo x phones and it seems that vivo has still not addressed this issue. Even the few sample photos in this hands-on review show the unnaturally oversaturated red areas in the images, which most likely cannot be suffiently corrected for in postprocessing because of channel-clipping.
2. As some early YT reviews of the X200pro have indicated, vivo is still enforcing unnaturally looking face-smoothing algorithms in portrait shots, and the users cannot entirely switch that off. So, vivo, please: not everybody wants face-smoothing. Please allow for switching off this feature.
3. If you carefully look at the tele-macro shots you will see some strange out of focus rendering. It's reminiscent of the "donut-bokeh-rings" that have been a typical finding in mirror-lenses. And beside this strange finding, the overall rendering of the tele-macro photos suffers from various problems upon close inspection: clipping highlights, and overall some sort of strange blur that seems to be a cross-breed between motion blur and partial out of focus. If vivo wants to allow users to make true full use of the technical possibilities of its tele macro, they should implement the possibility of focus stacking. This would indeed make for revolutionary great macro images.

Too much rounded corners for me. X10 Ultra Ultra looks way better with it's rectangular shape. This year model is just another iPhone clone.

Nothing much improvement,
even last year they gave 1 inch sensor, this time it is reduced.

indlvarn, 15 Oct 2024There is already a comparison on Youtube between x100 Ultra... moreyeah same sensor same lens but better on new phone. vivo never optimize the x100 ultra hardware like their pro line up. even the 100pro is better in battery performance with slightly smaller capacity
