Even super cheap Moto E14 doesn't have notch...
Enough is enough, already, Scamsung... I'm developing a severe Samsungphobia... No, but seriously... Wth is going on with them?! No wonder they're losing market share.

Geoffrey, 25 Oct 2024Thanks for the review. I think the A15 will be the better b... moreIf you live in some parts of Europe or outside of Asia itself then the A16 5G is a very good grab other than the A15 4G/5G. But if you live in Asia and you already have the A15, especially the 4G variant then It's absolutely nonsense to upgrade. There is literally 0 upgrades in anything and the G99 in the A15 still works really well for day-to-day tasks with the 6/8GB variant.

If you're opting for a good 4G performer, go with A15 4G. As the prices were already dropping.

If you'd consider futureproof, go with A16 5G, whether if It's the D6300 or the E1330. They both perform well and can match the G99 in overall performance.

Never consider the D6100+ as it is a worse alternative to the G99. Underpowered for low battery efficiency.

Pralea, 25 Oct 2024The updates are useless if the phone lags. In a year or two... moreSince Samsung is churning out same phones (same display, cameras, battery size, frame, chipsets etc) each year with minor improvements, longer update guarantee is their way in 2024 and beyond to justify price premium over rival brands.

The reason why Samsung artificially limited the max video resolution is because the Dimensity 6300 doesn't support 4K video and caps off at QHD recording.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2024Price will drop, A15 wasn't 135 euro at launch like it... moreNo one really buys an A-series at release date, that's what most people don't get.

Phone technology is maturing and w/the increasing downsides of using an unlocked bootloader, software support has been a priority for me.

I'll pick up an A15 5G for a relative when the price drops further, then buy the A16 model 6 months later.

I'll try to avoid choosing the base model ram though.

Z, 25 Oct 2024Good thing about it is the massive updates support! Great ... moreThat is like praising a car that can achieve 100 mpg, but only achievable with the said car stripped bare and limited to 20 mph top speed. Acceptable for some people, but painfully slow and unusable for most commuters.

I like the tiny notch on my A14

This phone's price range for its 4/128GB (possibly UFS 2.2) just coincides with the price I bought the Poco X6 Pro 8/256GB (UFS 4.0) where I live.

IDK why this A16 is priced that high for a measely 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Even the 6 years update can't compensate when the release phone is already stuttering/slowing down. Kind of sad promising 6yrs upgrade when the guarantee you get are slowdowns and stuttering on the time the phone is released.

Thanks for the review. I think the A15 will be the better buy because it is cheaper and comes with a headphone jack. Unless its price drops, there's little reason to buy the A16.
