Idk why but they haven't gotten their stuff together for a while. We see some glimpses of brilliance from their T series phones and the base flagships like the Xiaomi 14 but that's it.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 13 which similarly comes with a 1080p display and 5000mAh battery, but an entry-level Dimensity 6080 CPU, somehow got a pathetic endurance score of just 9:49h, one of the worst for a phone reviewed by GSMA in 2024.
Two phones, both with 1080p displays and 5000mAh batteries, yet wildly different battery life. I need an explanation for this madness, especially on Xiaomi's part, where pretty much all their phones released in 2024 all have underwhelming battery life.

It feels like from hardware perspective, phone cameras have peaked and now OEMs are downgrading their sensors and relying on post processing via "AI" to show things have improved. This is an unfortunate trend. Realme, OnePlus, Vivo all have downgraded their main camera sensor this year. Xiaomi downgraded main camera sensor for 14 pro last year and I am worried the will do it for Ultra this year :-(

I really think, that the speaker test should be ten pages long in future reviews. And please never talk about supported bluetooth codecs, because nobody uses BT headphones with a smartphone that does not have jack. No Sir, everyone goes straight for the speaker. This review does amazing job at skipping the codes entirely. So good work and carry on!

Phones last year got around 7hours ... morethe gaming scores are quite disappointing tho, considering the fact that the GT5 Pro with a 5400 mah battery got around 95% of this phone's run time. The clock speed and stuff difference shouldn't really matter here considering the fact that gsmarena aren't really playing intensive games at max settings so the efficiency should push through.
I guess the performance mode does take a toll on the battery on ALL games, otherwise idk how to explain the Oneplus/Oppo gaming numbers.

I'll admit it, the Xperia is indeed quite impressive regardless of the methods used but context matters. This phone has top tier performance that you can actually feel in games and that can also be sustained if you wish. Pretty sure you can just switch off performance mode and get far longer battery life on these phones.

JustMe, 18 Nov 2024the battery life is not impressive given that it's 650... more9hours 26min on gaming. Phones last year got around 7hours 30 from 5000ma so for the brand it's definitely impressive especially when you consider the insane cpu clockspeeds.
