I dont understand comparison with with A17 Pro in IP15 when it should be compared with 18 Pro in IP16 which is still a better chip. I though for a second androids passed (cr)apple in performance but sadly this is another misleading post like always..

Architect, 20 Jan 2025Hahaha how is the oneplus 13 better option even for games; ... moreAnd you can make it for the cooking pan 🍳 it is powerful but after 30 minutes of gaming it gets hot, I brought Asus rog 9 and in my observation is this: to much power without directions getting things to 🔥, best phone from Asus that I have in my hands was Asus Rog 3 it is android 12 but I think it's best gaming console from Asus. Options and cooling, desktop mode - twin viewer and tablet mode and connection on different levels.

My biggest gripe with ROG phones was the design, because otherwise they had pretty much everything I wanted: fast USB, headphone jack, flat screen, powerful cpu, battery management and such.
So last year I gave the ROG 8 pro a try, the lack of long-term software updates was a downer but I was willing to put up with it.
Well, I lasted 3 weeks before returning the phone to get a refund. The software was my main issue.
Admittedly this won't bother people in a day to day use but there are so many small inconsistencies that I could not take using the phone anymore. The way app folders open is incredibly outdated and covers the screen in such an awkward way. The settings menu is so badly organized and convoluted I relied on setting search way too much. The phone lacks any cohesive way to customize it aside form the "themes" asus offers, there is no reliable way to use icon packs, even more features like the material you colored icons is broken. Popular apps like amazon which are wildly used do not transform into the themed versions, something it does in every other phone I've tried. The menu thing continues as the option to have a scrolling wallpaper(somehting present in nearly every phone) is somehow hidden in the wallpaper menu. Then there's the optimizations. Despite the massive batteries, the phone didn't live up to the battery standard I expected so I monitored it's performance, and even in ultra durable mode the OS took nearly 40 -50% of the used battery, when in ither androids this would be at the lowest 10% to a max of around 25% meaning the software is not properly optimized. Stuff like this kept adding up to the point I had to return it and get a refund. It doesn't help that Asus took away the unlocking of the bootloader so even after not getting OS updates you can't use custom ROMs to modernize the phone. Adding the fact asus customer service is atrocious, I'm glad I went with the Nothing (2). I may not have the power or headphone jack but at least the phone feels usable in my day to day.

One plus 13 is a good daily phone for 800 bucks and that's all nothing more.

The speaker settings include an 'outdoor mode' option.
When this mode is activated, the volume definitely surpasses that of other "flagship" models.

It seems Asus is going to cheat it's users once again with it's ROG 9 series. Almost all 4&5 series users (Me too for my ROG5S) suffering from the problems of failure of Wi-fi and Hotspot connectivity and it happened just after system updation to Android 13. Asus casually declined those not as a manufacturing issue on their part . Moreover almost every sufferers had been advised for replacement of Mother Board on their own cost (around 40-45K). Why should one invest 2/3rd of
the face value once again for a so call

These benchmark scores are cheating! Asus throttles the 8 Gen 3's clock speed when the fans are disabled. Check the GPU scores too. What a waste!
