    Mine arrived today from china,origin 5 version in grey.It was 530 dollars about 415 pounds total delivered.Il be giving it some time over the weekend and setting it all up,the Chinese rom doesn’t bother me at all in some ways it’s better than the global version,it’s just missing band 20 which is no big deal to me as I use WiFi just about everywhere.Updates will be faster either way the china version and it was cheaper and comes with a larger battery strangely.This should be a nice upgrade from my Samsung S21 ultra exynos version and I can sell that for about 250 pound on eBay.

Additionally, it's been shown a few times on yt that iPhones don't actually switch to the maximum refresh rate when browsing the web, so the web browsing results and the gaming results are perhaps the most impressive of any phone i've seen. The only "con" is the video streaming number and even then, it's matching the ROG Phone 9 Pro.

          I think only the Oneplus 13 has a chance of beating this, really interested in seeing what that phone offers because if it is not substantially better than this, this is a winner.

Keep all the niche features and make the sensors larger. you're either st*pid or you're malicious if you think I in any way said that I wanted Sony to cater to normies.

            They should either ONLY cater to normies or ONLY cater to enthusiasts, they're in a weird middle ground where they don't cater to either. Apart from Pro Video, a built in 3.5 mm DAC and an SD Card slot, the Sony isn't an "enthusiast" phone. The Chinese Ultras mog this phone. Those phones have FAR superior pro mode/RAW mode shots. So Sony should use their OWN extremely good sensors like the LYT-900 for the main, the LYT-600 for the UW cam and at LEAST the IMX858 for the telephoto. Tell me im wrong and why, and if you're right i'll concede. But I stand by what I say, Sony's phones are extremely cool in theory but don't have the hardware to back it up. They can neither take better Pro Mode shots than chinese phones nor better "processed" shots than chinese phones, so in terms of photography and general videography they're a no-go.

                    These people complain the lack of mainstream features in unique phones and keep complaining until the manufacturer changes to mainstream phone with their flavor and then complain saying that phone had lost its identity. Like what Asus did with rog series 7 to series 8.

                    If you can't appreciate or support such manufacturers, atleast stop complaining. People need to realise Sony is not for everyone and it's the most rounded package one can get in this boring smartphone industry albeit at a premium over other manufacturers

                      18 hours+ !! That's some seriously good battery endurance. With the 6150 mAH battery pack, it might have even challenged iPhone 16 plus for the crown! (Linear interpolation calculates to 18:30 but with variability in measurements, you never know.)

                      With increasing processor efficiency, and rising battery pack sizes, 24H endurance in mainstream phones is only a couple years away it seems.

Sony copied everything that the current Apple/Samsung/Chinese brands did in the smartphone industry and removed the remaining everything that defined Sony Xperia since 1 V to satisfy the general people like you but upset the core audience of Xperia that already mourned the loss of notification LED in Mark V and those who desired, even desperately needed the last defining featuring (3.5mm jack, front-firing stereo speakers, proper shutter button, squarish yet chamfered industrial design, no-notch, MicroSDXC card expansion, Pro feature of Video and Photos) like me, even more than how Sony upset Xperia fans with XZ2 series/XZ3 being a total copy of smartphone at that time? People like you are the reason why we don't have the choice to have a smartphone that caters to some smaller audience any more and worrying fans to death with the upcoming Mark VII renders that could remove the signature features after Mark II-IV tried their best to fight for that features to stay. At this point, I rather fully moved to the Apple iPhone going forward because Sony's elements lived there because of Steve Jobs' fanboyism toward Sony for decades rather than choosing Android brands (saying this as I owned both Xperia 1 II and iPhone 13 Pro Max).

                        Yes, I understand Sony should improve in some ways for the Xperia division, but if that had to sacrifice what Sony is unique in the industry, well that could lead to the end of Xperia's journey that some people here are wishing for and cast a doom in camera sensor testing devices for other brands like Vivo, Xiaomi, Apple who ordered Sony camera sensor because Xperia is Sony testing device for those brands you admired the most. There were some reasons why Xperia fans blamed MKBHD and some people like you when XZ2 series moved to a more generic design, and XZ3 added the insult to the injury with curved screen and only able to revert it next year with OG Xperia 1.

                            Cropped sensors suck unless used properly. And Sony has made some of the worst hardware decisions to date with their telephotos. Even if what you're saying is "good" and sony has good hardware, their photos are absolutely terrible. So what's your point, genius?

                                    Anonymous, 28 Nov 2024Little secret .. periscope is 1/1.7" used by mate 30... moreI like how you keep ignoring the fact that Mate 30 Pro's 40MP sensor is an RYYB Quad Bayer sensor while Sony's 12MP sensor used for their tele camera is a regular RGGB Bayer sensor. Not to mention, A type 1/1.7 sensor simply wouldn't fit inside Xperia's thin body without a huge camera bump.

                                    Sony's processing on a tele camera is also very primitive and is not doing a good job of compensating for a relatively small lens aperture - Details are clearly overprocessed during the day and noises run over the entire frame in low light.

"B-, but it's a crop of much bigger sensor" The relevant area is much smaller. The second problem with argument is remosaicing artifacts. And that dim aperture? It was with 1/2", full stop.
