    completely flat screen

    weight is below 210g

yet battery life is awesome 😎

and camera setup is very competent

oh let's not forget about the 4+5 years of updates and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

iQOO 13 seems to be a proper successor to the iQOO 12 🔥

It would definitely kill their reputation for sure.

You could say Sony is at least trying to keep their image, while Asus became a sellout.

Anonymous, 28 Nov 2024You know, despite how overpriced Sony phones are, at least ... morethe 1 VI sucks. Forgoing the 4k screen was bad enough but they went for a 1080p one, ugh.

On top of that, instead of improving sensors they used a zoom cam with a worse aperture, the zoom cam already sucked and they sacrificed it to get "longer zoom range". And the worst part is that they started processing their photos like other android manufacturers, they lost their charm with the 1 VI. I respected Sony even a little bit, till the 1 V. But the 1 VI ruined it for me.

Damn. Those CPU stability looks so smooth
If only they could do the same for GPU scores

Guess thats the limit for passively cooled systems

Wondering why Asus doesn't go full active cooling with exposed metal in rear above the CPU with aero active cooler on to attain 100% stability and throttle the device when the active cooler is disconnected. Would give them an edge when compared to competition such aa iqoo, Find X8, nubia etc

Sony knows they can't possibly compete with the big boys anymore, so they prefer selling niche phones. That's what you call integrity.

Integrity is something many corporations these days are willing to sacrifice for the sake of trying to appeal to the masses. We see this in fiction, music, movies, and video games. Most of the time, they end up with worse sales because they alienated their loyal fans. So props to Sony for staying true to themselves.

Those made the ROG Phone, the ROG Phone. Now it's basic and any other phone can fill the void.

And I agree, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is the death of the zenfone lineup. Asus is not the asus we loved anymore. Sad. Pathetic stuff from Asus.

jiyen235, 28 Nov 2024Photography isn't bad at all but could definitely be i... moreI lost all my interest in Asus ever since the ROG Phone 8 and Zenfone 11 Ultra. The ROG Phone series used to be special with incredible-sounding front-facing speakers, dual-DAC, no intrusive punch hole, and good ergonomics, but they ruined all those with the ROG 8. Now the ROG Phone looks and feels like basically every other phone on the market but with a gaming moniker.

Zenfones used to be the go-to option if you wanted a compact phone starting with the Zenfone 8, but they took that away with the Zenfone 11 Ultra. Even worse, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is basically just a near carbon-coby of the ROG Phone 8 without a second USB port, and that just screams "lazy" to me.

All these seem like an effort by Asus to go more mainstream so they can chase more sales. I don't respect that kind of practice, so to hell with them. Asus is way past their prime in the phone market anyway, the last time they had any mainstream success was when they were still releasing budget and midrange phones back in 2019.

Does this phone support display out through its usb-C connector?
Sometimes I need to browse for long hours, and reading from my monitor is more comfortable than reading from my phone's screen

Another downgraded camera system from 8 elite phone

                        8 elite is really pricey

                        This year camera is disappointment

Photography isn't bad at all but could definitely be improved, Vivo seems to have extracted the most they can for now and the rest can be improved with simple tweaks. The main cam and UW cams are fine, the 2x needs some work or is it just THAT bad? lol

The display seems quite cool and gah damn the battery!! awesome speeds and it lasts SO long for a 1440p 144hz display. I'm impressed. I guess my theory about inferior efficiency of BOE displays was wrong cus this is amazing and compares quite well to the GT7 Pro.

At nearly half the price of the ROG Phone 9, that comes without the fan, this is just a superior deal through and through. This phone performs better without the fan, now that's impressive. And the battery charges faster and lasts far longer on the browsing test and is essentially the same in the video and gaming tests. Great job, Vivo.

The speakers could be better and a headphone jack would be nice but for the price this is great. I spoke with some IQOO owners and the update speeds are quite fast, so you get better support from a "cheap" gaming phone than you do on Asus phones, LMAO.

IpsDisplay, 28 Nov 2024"We are particularly impressed by the gaming runtime. ... moreSo underrated, this deserved at the very least 4.4.
The game performance with Q2 chip is on another level, temperature, fps, battery wise.

These kind of reviews don't do it justice and are plain misleading when compared to more in depth reviews such as antutu review ( https://www.antutu.com/doc/133110.htm ) .

Even antutu v10 score presented here(2.79M) is significantly lower than the official site (2.9M).

I find images on this too processed and saturated with brightness way too high. Also some bad purple and green lens flare on second image

Anonymous, 28 Nov 2024yes, the only few phones that support bypass charging. gsma... moreI find their review structure punishes features that are more rare

Because they have a template that I guess helps them to get reviews as quickly as possible but in doing so only generic features will get typically highlighted

But at the expense of other unique features being buried and ignored

Which is why there diagnosis of the GPU efficiency is credited to a universal spec like the 8 elite instead of the phones unique Q2 chip strength.. I'd go even as far to believe their review style might be impacting their development of technical knowledge too and appreciation of it as well

Bypass charging and usb 3.2 is mega ultra rare in smartphones overall and not mentioning it can indirectly mislead readers to thinking the phone is as generic as it's competition

Even the Q2 chip is making this thing run similar to gaming smartphones in in stability

"We are particularly impressed by the gaming runtime. It seems like Qualcomm put together an extremely energy-efficient SoC."

NOPE!!! Most of this credit goes to the Q2 chip!!!

Too bad gsmarena arena seems like you didn't test the USB 3.2 display out

Also doesn't this have bypass charging too??

Which gsmarena was modern to test the ultra steady FPS with little gitters

The iqoo 13 is underrated and to me is the best polished of the first generation 8 elite smartphones

This will be the Real contender for a RedMagic 10.

80% performance maintained in over an hour of gaming, maintained on the CPU, with the choice to weaken the GPU speed.

It's an engineering choice that I find very intelligent and practical . (in the absence of additional external fans and "supercoolers" which inevitably increase costs)

A Winlator (which uses a lot of CPU computation), with this device it will fly.

Suitable for Gamers. (the serious ones)
