Anonymous, 02 Feb 2025Xiaomi devices are starting to seem like a burden now... I ... moreThe trick is to not update to hyper os. Miui 14 is the best for pad 6 as its the most optimised for battery and smoothness.
I'm not supporting xiaomi or anything but we got to deal with what we have. P.S this is coming from a pad 6 user

I honestly wouldn't recommend Xiaomi products, they are the manufacturers with the most planned obsolescence. I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, it turned off out of the blue in just two years, the card had been damaged. My friend bought some new Redmi Buds 4 Pro, out of the blue they sound very low, one more than the other, she had to buy others. I don't recommend Xiaomi because of my bad experience in general.

The only good ones is xiaomi, Motorola, Sony and a few others. I kind of like those rugged ulefones with flir thermal sensor. All phones should have flir infrared sensor.
If you know any other good ones let me know!

Ammarovic, 02 Feb 2025You will end up going back due to its horrible life span. Why? Because lithium battery dies after 2 years of heavy use? That's normal and all lithium batteries have this problem. Just open the back panel and replace the battery with a new one and enjoy the phone for another 2 years. I don't see any problem.

Thankfully xiaomi is one of the few hardware manufacturers that still allows bootloader unlock and it's very easy to do. Even a caveman can root a xiaomi device. This cannot be said about other manufacturer's though.

Bought it and had been using it for 2 weeks. Great screen, snappy performance, smooth as butter UI animations but absolutely fucking shit customization. Installing custom fonts is a pita and even if you managed to install them the margins and line spacing goes awry. The every present three dot is also a major problem. Not only does it nags at your peripheral vision all the time, it interferes with the full-screen optimizations for a lot of apps by either disabling it or misplacing other UI elements. Great hardware for the price point but absolutely horrendous software. If any of the negatives I talked about bother you, I would recommend waiting for a while until people find a way to make hyperos2 bearable.

Ammarovic, 02 Feb 2025You will end up going back due to its horrible life span.Xiaomi and chinophones not reliable. My experience with them all. Also the worst about spy/bloat/bugs/unoptimized (I.e more and more packages and proprietary drivers from OEMs )
Ok for cheap stuff though, if 100-200 $, considering it's disposable electronic.
Apple ( which I don't like ) and Samsung are beyond universe ahead for reliability.
Been a software and hardware engineer for 30 years and nerd buying / trying / sending back hundreds of phones and gear. Giving me some credibility, or not, you decide

I want to use the Pad for taking notes at work and I assume that the palm will constantly touch the screen while writing with the Pen. Does the Indian version of Xiaomi Pad 7 have palm recognition ?

Xiaomi devices are starting to seem like a burden now... I bought a Pad 6 in early 2024 but within a year its performance has started deteriorating even though the usage is very less, I regret that I have also been using Redmi phones for a long time
