The 3 major downsides of Xiaomi pad 7 :

1. Lack of Gorilla Glass protection
2. Lack of Fingerprint scanner.
3. Aspect ratio of 3:2 ( Better for gaming but not for movies)

The performance and price seem decent at first glance, but let me tell you, there are some seriously frustrating issues! First off, so many crucial apps like Amazon just don't support this device! And good luck with keyboard shortcuts; every time I want to use Ctrl, Shift, or Alt, I end up typing twice—what a pain! It's a complete waste of time and effort! And don't even get me started on the keyboard layout; it covers half the screen! I can't see what I'm typing at all, making a total mess of everything. What was I thinking buying this? I should have just gone for an Apple iPad instead. Seriously, think twice before you make the same mistake I did!

I think Xiaomi pad 6 still better than Xiaomi pad 7. Xiaomi pad 7 added some new features, but I am doubt about its overall built quality. We have to wait 6-12 months for more reviews.

I was considering this to replace my 9th gen iPad...

until I saw that it only has 2 years worth of OS updates...

        at this day and age

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2025Xiaomi devices are starting to seem like a burden now... I ... moreThe trick is to not update to hyper os. Miui 14 is the best for pad 6 as its the most optimised for battery and smoothness.

I'm not supporting xiaomi or anything but we got to deal with what we have. P.S this is coming from a pad 6 user

I honestly wouldn't recommend Xiaomi products, they are the manufacturers with the most planned obsolescence. I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, it turned off out of the blue in just two years, the card had been damaged. My friend bought some new Redmi Buds 4 Pro, out of the blue they sound very low, one more than the other, she had to buy others. I don't recommend Xiaomi because of my bad experience in general.

The only good ones is xiaomi, Motorola, Sony and a few others. I kind of like those rugged ulefones with flir thermal sensor. All phones should have flir infrared sensor.

If you know any other good ones let me know!

Ammarovic, 02 Feb 2025You will end up going back due to its horrible life span. Why? Because lithium battery dies after 2 years of heavy use? That's normal and all lithium batteries have this problem. Just open the back panel and replace the battery with a new one and enjoy the phone for another 2 years. I don't see any problem.

Thankfully xiaomi is one of the few hardware manufacturers that still allows bootloader unlock and it's very easy to do. Even a caveman can root a xiaomi device. This cannot be said about other manufacturer's though.

Bought it and had been using it for 2 weeks. Great screen, snappy performance, smooth as butter UI animations but absolutely fucking shit customization. Installing custom fonts is a pita and even if you managed to install them the margins and line spacing goes awry. The every present three dot is also a major problem. Not only does it nags at your peripheral vision all the time, it interferes with the full-screen optimizations for a lot of apps by either disabling it or misplacing other UI elements. Great hardware for the price point but absolutely horrendous software. If any of the negatives I talked about bother you, I would recommend waiting for a while until people find a way to make hyperos2 bearable.

Ok for cheap stuff though, if 100-200 $, considering it's disposable electronic.

Apple ( which I don't like ) and Samsung are beyond universe ahead for reliability.
