      Put your old phone and current side by side and see how long both can play videos. Does old phone has advantages?

      Xiaomi phones had poor results on old tests.
      Poor results now.
      Zero coincidence.

      Phone from 2025 with 6000mAh and low end SoC has OBLIGATION to last more than old phones with power hungry SoC + smaller battery.

      Xiaomi midranges manage to last even less than those Sony with 4K screen.
      Rebranded MIUI drains more battery than politicians drain public money.

          How is this one of the advantages ? Having a mediocre OLED screen is clearly one of the disadvantages of this phone.

          If this phone had IPS LCD display and 4k video recording and a better chipset, it could easily become phone of the year!

These are NOT same tests! For new web browsing test they have new sets of web pages with added touch on the screen every 3 seconds which gives spike in refresh rate and CPU. And GPS is ON. This was not in the old test. If they took your suggested phones and did new test with new method, results would be much lower. And video test is new becouse the old one looped saved videos from the device, the new one is using streaming from Youtube.
                They explained Battery test 2.0 and again, NOT to compare devices with different tests.
                Watch this: Samsung S22 Ultra web(old test) - 16:54, video(old test) - 18:01 / Samsung S23 Ultra web(new 2.0 test) -10:51, video(new 2.0 test) -15:47. According to you, S23 Ultra has about 20-30% worse battery life than S22 Ultra. Or actually those old and new tests ARE NOT COMPAREABLE.

                    My statements about tests is for you to understand that results from new methodologies are not comparable to the results from their tests made from their old methods. Even GSMArena does not allow you to include the old tests in the comparison because it's not exactly the same method anymore compared to the old one.

                    This conversation is about tests in general. Your own prejudice shows, it's the one that leads you accusing me of defending Xiaomi. When the one I'm more concerned with is you drawing conclusions from two different disjointed tests which is wrong.

                    Here, GSMArena themselves stated:

                    "The new and old battery life ratings are both measured in hours of runtime, but are incomparable because the new score assumes only active use. It doesn't factor in any time during which you may put down the phone and have only stand-by power draw."

                    This does not even consider the fact the the viSer app they used in new methods have already been updated and may even have new methods added.

                        New test is just SCREEN ON , while old was SCREEN ON + OFF .
                        And gaming time was added.

                        Still measure how long phone can last playing videos, internet and phone calls.
                        They added games and removed standby.

                        No excuses. Phone from 2019 can browse internet for 15h but 2024 xiaomi with 50% more battery cannot

The only way that they are comparable is when GSMArena does a re-testing of each old phones with the new method. All your comparisons and conclusions comparing those old values to the new testing results will be considered unreliable because you're referencing an already outdated data.
