KN Analyst, 24 Mar 2025Is the processor capable of managing 5/6 years of updates, ... moreNot that far behind, more or less at the same level...Snapdragon main advantage is power optimisation and autonomy, Exynos chips are way too power 🔋 hungry. I use an A52 (4G version) and an A54 but in terms of autonomy/power optimisation the former is 2/3 levels above the A54.
A54 must be recharged daily even with low or moderate use, battery gets drained on sleep mode with Wi-Fi and mobile data off and none of the os updates received up to now could fix that major flaw, I don't have great hopes on upcoming UI7, I have the feeling this issue will remain for its whole lifespan.

I just bought S24 FE online for my wife, dicounted a little over A56.

I can say that the camera is way ahead of older Samsung we have, S10e, and my Poco F3.

Performance is better than my Poco F3.

Is the processor capable of managing 5/6 years of updates, especially for the Exynos processor, which is far behind the snapdragon on performance wise.

19.5:9 is BAD. It should havs been 20:9

The outstanding feature of this device is "stability" - in multiple ways:
1.This device just runs stable: it doesn't overheat, it doesn't throttle, it just keeps operational and smooth.
                    2. With 6 years of upgrades/updates you get "stability" for over half a decade in that sense that you don't need to worry or look out for an other device.

Keeping an Android device up to date and adapting the newest Android OS every year is a very expensive thing to do.
That's why companies love Samsung and Apple devices as they get stable updates over a relatively long time.

Anonymous, 24 Mar 2025I wonder if the A-Series is getting a reboot or something b... moreThree digit a series?

I don't think samsung would push 6 updates on a budget phone. Hardware is not capable though

Luke, 24 Mar 2025If what you say is true, noone would have objected. But ... moreThe S24 FE is far from outdated, and is still twice as powerful as an A56. Still has a better screen, wireless charging which the A56 lacks and the same number of years of updates (and probably much more regular updates), etc. And it only costs 10 euros more.

I wonder if the A-Series is getting a reboot or something because we already had an A60 and A40...what will Samsung be calling their A36 and A56 in 4 year's time? A41 and A61? Sounds odd. Same goes for the A26...in 4 year's time, it will become an A3X series phone, clashing with the already established A3X Series...

It seems like everything from Samsung posted is a straight up crying for readers here. In my country, this priced under USD 399, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ priced at USD 450. This is a way better deal as it have a metal/glass body, faster SoC, 1/1.56 main sensor,... blah blah blah. Tried one at the demo store and I found that certain system applications appears to be more responsive than my OriginOS 5's iQOO Neo9, despite having a SoC that only 65% as fast as my Snapdragon 8Gen2. The only thing I hope they will improve for the A57 is the equal screen bezels. Otherwise most people, which they dont play intensive AAA games on their phones will aim for this phone in the following months, when price dropped significantly. And people worrying about this phone not be able to survive through 6 years of software update, your mom and your dad probably using something that is perform worse than a Snapdragon 660.

Now it's prime time to get fairly priced A55!

finally an Exynos chip that isnt a hot hoover bag but what is with that massive chin of the screen? its 2025 and low tier 250$ phones have better screen ratio why is samsung doing this ?
and no WiFi 6E is just diabolical...no IP68 and no UFS 4.0 too.............500USD for 8/128 and 2021 tech is just bad man
why anyone would buy this when 14T series exists?

                                    The solution I'll bring is:
Samsung should get rid of once-original, now stereotypical A (short for Alpha, iykyk) naming, also the FE stuff under which it never was able to bring a product that appeals to the big crowds of fans in the intended way.
Instead, they should bring more use to Edge lineup and also add an additional Ace (inferior to Edge) naming to S series by also abiding by the current design approach in these A36 and A56 and building on it because it's simple but pretty enough. These can be high-end smartphones with more room for experimenting (i.e. brand new camera sensors (from Sony or Samsung itself, even more thinness craze with first trial of TDDI technology, a new display technology) and chipsets such as Dimensity 8-series or Snapdragon 7/7+ series, or if they can't help but need to slap one in their smartphones, the Exynos 1-, not the top notch performance but satisfying enough to cater to those who cannot afford a flagship or not desire to have all configurations in a flagship for different kind of reasons.
I believe this strategy is worth considering even just a bit and it can be a game changer in terms of making others such as Xiaomi question their strategies in midranges and high-end smartphones as they also slowly start to be struggling with providing enough value for money.

Thank you all even if you didn't read it all and also for editors to share my opinions even if they will be received as utter trash or valueless by some folks.

I know it's extremely random to write this here but I got an urge strong enough to make someone hear it out before it self-destructs itself:
Current A series have some pluses such as a clean design and appealing colorways, even though it's largely bashed out here (even by me as well). But, previous A series smartphone (especially the iteration of the series in 2019 and 2020, the A80, A81, A91, just to name a few) had bigger promises in creativity and usability. However, the releases've been getting more and more obsolete after the launch of A52s, whose price for value Samsung hasn't able to surpass yet. You know, there have been news coming out recently that Samsung wants to abandon Galaxy branding for midrange and low-end smartphones and they have my back if they ever really do it one day but they should not let the spirit of A series totally disappear in the thin air.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2025From now on, you'll have to get used to buying the S24... moreIf what you say is true, noone would have objected.

But you are far away from proper math.
A series has always been released for 450-480, true, but shortly after it was going to 300-320 euro.
FE was released for how much?600+?
Now we're like 1 generation later, 24fe is outdated and costs almost 500€.. e.g. far above a55 , which was in same generation and available for 300.

So get your facts. FE is 50% overpriced A series.
