But maybe that's why Xiaomi has been giving us a much more competitive lineup through their Poco line: the competition. I, for once feel grateful for any heated up competition to shake any incumbents. Because that means the kings would be pushed out of their complacency and start giving us consumers affordable yet powerful gadget again.

The downside: sometimes the RAM management system is too overeager and kill the app.

imho there is ALWAYS half-a-star-or-so PENALTY when a Budget-model is reviewed and half-a-star-or-so BONUS when a Premium-model is reviewed. Regardless of said phones are good/bad offerings; Premium ones get more stars as they have more advanced specs. This is completely bogus.

No mention of the color accuracy tests? Suspicious.
Had used multiple Infinix phones in the past and the color accuracy is abysmal, and barely passing at best.

Sound lacks depth, bass and loudness, and at max volume sounds starts crackling as if they speakers cant handle the sound. Video sounds okayish as the dialogues come out clear thanks to overboosted highs. But background music doesnt come out as clear.
While music sounds completely crap. I tried the JBL sound option, tried out all the setting including music, video, games, but the change was very minimal.

But it's hollow, tinny, and too much treble going on. I even have to download a separate equaliser to tune it to a much more bearable sound output.

Since nothing good is coming it out their partnership with JBL, as JBL keeps producing crap sounding speakers for their phones, Infinix must cancel this partnership as its only increasing the production cost. And smartphone speakers are tiny and they dont require specialized tuning to make them sound better

nice to see aluminum frame and premium build in a budget phone
camera is nice too
the thin bezels put pixel 9a to shame
Low-temp charging mode is appreciated too. However they should have implemented an 80% or 90% charging limit.
I'm also not a fan of how the phone looks, but who cares? A phone is a tool after all.

Clearly not for gaming
Casual crowd will appreciate the camera and charging(Fast wired, wireless, bypass)
Non-pro Infinix Note 50 4G or Tecno Camon 40 are even better cheaper alternative

they have unusual features like heart rate sensor, bypass charging but why are more common features like HDR10 missing? It's a bit sad that even the cheapest Note series doesn't have a microSD and 3.5mm jack.

Been using this phone for 2 weeks, very impressed by it, even got me thinking why do i need much more expensive phone, when this is more than adequate for my daily needs. The looks is premium as hell.
But it is cutting corners alright, the software still need more polishing a bit, the chipset is arguably slow, but as long as it's cool to the touch and the hiccup in UI is minimal (even my sd 8 gen 1 phone previously still has some hiccup here and there) I'm all for it.

There is certainly a need for cheaper phones, and a market for them. With this, the buyer also gets a lot in the box, which reduces further costs. But if the phone is of a cheaper class, does it have to be so ugly? Well, this is desperately ugly, nothing can fix it, even the case is ugly. It would really be good to organize some kind of selection of the ugliest phones, so that manufacturers come to their senses and stop producing such horrors for the eyes. Just because something is cheap, doesn't mean it can't be nice.
