Motorola Edge 60 Fusion review

The phone looks nice. I like Motorola's recent approaches to making a black square brick of a phone look better than other square bricks. Also kudos for improving the speakers sound quality and returning SD slot. The lagging camera app even after year since the edge 50 Fusion release is straight disrespectful to their clients. But for 300-ish bucks, this has very few compromises.
What about the vibrations? is it still an old style rotation motor or the new apple-like (LRA) one?

That's why I always tell people, if you want a whopping 180° viewing angle, then you better purchase a phone that has an excellent IPS LCD display.

So only the 50 Neo for 5 years of updates? That was a one off? I thought it's the start of a new improved policy.

BillyOcean, 10 Apr 2025People who buy huge SUV's and never take them off-road... moreYou claim people don't really need more powerful chipsets, and even MTK 7300 is enough for daily needs, yet you applaud having a SD-card expansion, while owning a Motorola without It.
Seriously, how many people would prefer that expansion slot vs a better chipset? Especially If you have 512GB storage inside.
I can buy a Poco X7 Pro with a MTK 8400 and I will be sure It will be fast enough even after the latest update, what I can't be so sure with MTK 7300, there is just that much of a difference in performance, while they cost pretty much the same and Poco also has USF4 instead of USF2.2 in Motorola.

You conclude by saying, "we didn't even mention the great software experience - an area where the company is constantly making strides forward as well".
Can you explain that? How is the software experience better? Are the updates finally more frequent?

And good luck with that Mediatek 7300 in the future, you will need It with those updates.

It's pretty poor if the camera app is still laggy after a year of collective review criticism.

This review says nothing about the experience of the display, it just spouts all the specs. If you're reviewing the phone you need to include information about your experience of using all the features instead of just listing the specs, if you don't have any thoughts on the display then keep that part out of the review. I would like to know more about how the screen compares in use to the Edge 50 Fusion, are the viewing angles any better/worse, are the curved edges any better/worse?

Fixed the software... Like really good but people will forever ask what's moto connect or something seasoned veterans would consider mundane.
Fixed the hardware like the edge 50 Neo has a telephoto lens which had me at hello. I bought it not because I wanted it but it was the only option in my city which says something.
Better chips. Like considerably better would be good. I miss the 3.0ghz of the fusion 30 but then again these are refined devices.
But the bouncing between SDragon and MDTek is something else I've encountered only really drop/durability issues. Couple that with the devices I want to buy having sold out spins me out.
Any of these could come with Moto buds. Or Moto buds+ for the sound fiends.

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2025Would be better if 60 Fusion : 6g4 + dual cam 60 Neo... morePeople who buy huge SUV's and never take them off-road is the same as people who want the most powerful chipset in their phones. They never need that much power, but they love knowing it's there. I own the Moto Neo with the same 7300 chipset in it. It is more than adequate for my daily needs. I'll pay less than half the cost of a flagship and be fine. Plus your getting a micro-sd, damn! Motorola is doing great with these mid-range phones. Keep up the great work Moto

That MicroSD slot + 512GB of internal storage is very welcomed. You could have more than 1TB of storage with this one. While Samsung and Nothing maxed out at 256, and Xiaomi at 512.

Motorola phones are a reasonable choice if you don't care about updates or cameras. If you do, I think the 3a would be a better choice.
