Invetor, 13 Apr 2025why would you want a Pixel 9a over an iPhone 13 pro max? 😐🙄iPhones are nothing special,it's well used and needs a battery change and will never get any better, and it's bulky and heavy and been dropped many times,it sometimes freezes and the signal isn't very good.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2025Too cumbersome carrying around extra stuff(cables, dongles,... moreYou know how small external drives are now? Regardless there is no reasonable use to require SD cards in the first place. Unless you're recording videos for multiple hours a day, while also away from a workstation it would be really hard to fill up this phone, even moreso that it can't even play AAA phone games. So why exactly do you need it?

And the envirnment friendly does not ev makes sense
It was a smart marketing apple trick, looking 'high end' and make it fragile ( glueing motherboard on glass backdefinitely non repairable... Real experience )
But jackasssses will claim it's smart or for wireless or someting.

"But no, they are the same 4mm thick on the sides as they were last year and instead of the bottom bezel being significantly thicker, it's only about half a millimeter thicker than the sides and the same thickness as the top bezel"
I really like this part where you explain the bezel condition of the phone. For the niche audience that cares about bezel uniformity, this is a much-appreciated detail—not many reviewers mention this factor!

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2025Don't need SD card, just transfer to PC or external SSD Too cumbersome carrying around extra stuff(cables, dongles, adapters) that could be lost or is heavy like a laptop compared to a small even smaller than your thumb microsd card.

After the Pixel 1 and 2, or Nexus basically, Google then ruined the camera's natural output and you can see that clearly in subsequent models, even this one. High contrast and high sharpness. No longer natural. The same as any other major brand, not good at all.

Plastic is perfect for a phone back (mind: Qi + metal are not a great mix) especially with heat conductive additives. Why do people like glass backs?? New body design is a welcome change. You say, "bland and unexciting," I say, "no giant case needed or weird snags/bumps in one's pocket," or even, "professional looking."
Great size and weight, screen specs, architecture/chip family (although I can't comment on Google's implementation).
No problems here w/ Gorilla 3. I abused my Nexus 5X (even getting in a motorcycle wreck with it in my jacket pocket) and always thought the screen was plastic because it never broke or cracked. Turns out? Gorilla Glass 3 with a simple, flat design.
The cameras are cameras---absolutely nothing special nor awful. 35mm (or even 50) would be better for a main shooter and 18 or 24 for "wide" angle. I guess I'm not taking reunion photos along the wall of a hallway? or trying to get every Alp in a single photo?
Infinite Android upgrades is only a bonus if there's a future where Material You is abolished in favor of sharp corners, non-flowery colors, simple UI elements, and efficient use of space i.e. no giant borders. Some older versions of Gmail, Calendar, News, "Google", Authenticator, Clock, the media widget, Maps, Auto, and GCam were simply a better design.
Same complaints as always: I'll never use Assistant as long as the company name is its wake word. No headphone jack, huge bezels, selfie cam cutout; put the selfie cam in one of the screen corners or under-screen and get rid of those ridiculous screen/body radii! AI still has growing pains, and you KNOW Google will take everyone's favorite feature and put it in the Graveyard next to Reader, Podcasts, Youtube downvotes, and Stadia.
In fact, I'd just take a brand new Nexus 5X with Android 8.
