I'm not entirely sure you get a whole lot more than the Pixel 8a. You barely get 1 hour more despite 13% more battery capacity. Arguably smaller sensors. Maybe a better screen and software upgrades but that's it really. I still think a Pixel 9 is better. I'd only get this on a discount.

    Battery life is still below par for a big capacity and small screen. It's higher because it exceeds 5000mah but the browsing and video recording is lower than A56, 3a Pro and Edge 50 Fusion.

      4.0 stars? Definitely deserves lower.

              Portrait quality is not great if you zoom in it's cut out around hair is poor

                Not bad, but the night photos are way too overprocessed. I even think a56 is better with the main cam lol. Pixel 8 with worse performance but better cameras or this for pixel phone people.

                  The ugliest front, ever conceived for a phone, horrendous battery considering the battery size and the screen resolution, slow charging.

                  The display's brightness seems to be excellent but Google's prone to throttling it hard, the speakers are nice but the downgraded main cam is just bad.

                  The only reasons to get this phone are the display brightness, software aesthetic, the UW cam and the selfie cam. Everything else just aint it. The Nothing Phone 3a Pro's telephoto cam is larger than this phone's main cam. And its selfie cam is larger than this phone's UW cam.

                    It's sad that...
                    - Google just used a mid tier chipset which is on par with Kirin 9020 with the struggles it has
                    - Even the Dimensity 8300 can defeat the Pixel chipset
                    - But even with that is the best exponent of the Pixel 9 series.

                    Seems that Google is better as a mid tier company than a flagship. And even worse... can't defeat the Tensor G3...

                      Because I am surprised how 9a is not hammer throttling like 9 Pro does.

                        If not the painfully slow charging, by current standards, this would be a decent midranger.
