Be it Samsung, Google, Vivo, Oppo, or anyone else.

Calling it bloatware when it's a Chinese phone and acting like Google/Samsung's ones cant be considered that is simply an unsmart thing.

jiyen235, 02 Sep 2025you've never used any of these phonesI literally compared FX8U with X200U yesterday. I can upload all of the samples from all of the phones here.

Even in ZEISS natural x200u won't produce the colors as good as s25u can, s25u's processing in general is trash however so I'd never trade all of this for simply slightly more natural colors.

not a single Chinese ultra phone produces natural colors, all of them are boosted with saturation up to the roof.

fx8u even in master mode still can't get close to iph and sammy in terms of color accuracy, not the reds not the pinks not the browns not the oranges etc etc, especially indoors

p.s. ofc i am not talking about telephotos as Samsung is just terrible there

Also here's why FX8U absolutely sucks right now:

It has odd & fuzzy artifacts whenever there's any sun outside.

DaFink, 02 Sep 2025Seriously, you own five high end smartphones? I suppose ... moreThe latter part, I can own any smartphone because I own an online retail shop that sells them lol

Hum... instead of the "botched" Huawei Pura 80 I would prefer to see the iPhone in its place. As "reference".

jiyen235, 02 Sep 2025i dont really see bloatware as an issue here, Samsung does ... moreI consider both their pre-installed software to be bloatware as well. It doesn't have to be BBK, for that matter.

Nick Tegrataker, 02 Sep 2025Because it sucks for macro? Back in 2018-2020, when a phone... moreThe ultrawide camera has deeper depth of field than the zoom camera because depth of field also depends on view angle, so more stuff will be in focus, but deeper depth of field comes with less light sensitivity so you will need way more light, but if you have more light and the subject is something that you can't scare away then it will take better macro images, the ultrawide camera is not bad for macro, it's good for certain situations and the tele-macro is good for other situations.

I'm in a Xiaomi 15 Ultra photography group on facebook and I don't understand why roughly 95% of people are using the zoom camera for macro, usually 90% of the subject is out of focus, why it's not bothering most of the users? (I know it uses the zoom camera automatically, but you can switch manually in pro mode.)

Thanks for the great comparison. As has long been clear, Samsung is not the leader and their Ultra phones are not that great of a camera phone. They do have a few other strengths, but overall they live up to their name. However, as this test shows, almost all phones have a lot of compromises and shortcomings that they shouldn't have. And here is the question, is the value for money we pay for these phones really sufficient? I think not. With Samsung, which lacks innovation the most, it is quite obvious. And there are many things that could be improved. For example, the size of the batteries, although it is improving here, desktop mode, stylus, audio jack, rather fewer cameras but with better output. Why do flip phones have relatively small displays? The flip format is ideal for something like the Mate 20X - the closed phone is compact and when I open it I have a large 7.2 inch display but in a usable format (not square like on today's folding phones)

Starkfrost, 02 Sep 2025Assuming, that every phone was tested in Auto, what's ... moreIt's two cars way in the background of one picture and at 35mm which is not even an optical focal length. Like I said, based on what I've seen overall I think the OPPO is the most consistent. I'm not judging it on one single photo. They all have strengths and weaknesses but personally I think the OPPO is the most balanced overall for rear cameras.

If you remember their older feature phones before having seperate brand names, their biggest USP was their cameras, despite overall mediocre specifications. In that case, they're currently bringing the best in the market while polishing what they advertise since their inception (ignoring their shortcoming of bloatware, of course).
