"Objects like foliage and buildings in the distance are rather soft and lack fine detail, which isn't something we expect from a flagship-level phone. This is probably due to the smaller sensor this year."
No, when I look at the sample images, the results are actually sharp and should be similar or better than what you get from certain flagship phones. The sensor size isn't relevant here. The Google Nexus 5x had a similar sensor size and can produce sharper daylight results (in HDR+ on mode) than for example a Google Pixel 6 Pro.
I think that the worse specifications just unconsciously made you think that it looks softer.

Both of them throttle badly, but Kirin has significantly better battery life except browsing
and much faster charging.
Considering Kirin is on a much worse process due to US sanctions, It shows they have a better design team than the Tensor.

So, the older Tensor built by Samsung is actually way more efficient. How tables turn.

So It turns out that not even TSMC can save Tensor SoC.
Performance is clearly nowhere near TOP tier, yet It throttles super heavily.
At least the XL model performs better and throttles much less than this, but even that one is pretty bad.
I really want to know who is willing to pay €999 for the 12GB 256GB version, at least the 128GB version is €215 cheaper.

I just reviewed the photos from the Pixel 10 and the Pixel 9a, and there's a real difference in the detail of distant objects, with the Pixel 9a coming out on top. As some have commented before me, if they have the same cameras, why do the Pixel 10 photos look worse? I really think Google had the Samsung Tensor much more optimized than the new TSMC Tensor, and I hope they can improve it because it's a real disaster.
Greetings from my Pixel 10 Pro

7sg3 performance coupled with more thermal throttling than a snapdragon 888.
maybe consider returning to samsung nodes, they were at least cheaper......

That all explains why Pixel 9 Pro literally has been sold out in Europe on a day of premier Pixel 10. Only few completely overpriced Pixel 9 Pro left.

The new chip was over-hyped, but I don't think we thought it would be worse (how could it be?!). If the testing unit isn't defective, then this is disgraceful.
I thought the main camera was straight from the 9a. If that's the case, why was the 9a's camera review positive and the 10's disappointing? The change in chip?

It looks like Google will have to bundle a fire extinguisher with this little fire cracker. It a shame it's no good. Lovely blue colour though.
