            Old SD6 Gen3, 8GB/128GB Ram/Rom, still 5000mah Li-ion battery, fugly looking back, for $450? 🤣🤣🤣 They really need to stop making phones already.

                I would say direct competitor to this phone is Motorola Edge. Exact same pricing, similar battery, weight, size, camera, display etc. These two are very comparable while all others are either bigger and heavier or simply not available like OnePlus 13T (which could be the best phone in 450 price range on planet Earth if it wasn't a unicorn).

                When it comes to vivo, Oppo they really don't have a compact phone that can compete with both Xperia 10 and Moto Edge in their price range. Realme has Realme 15 Pro which is quite comparable. Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro could be a direct competitor if it was available outside China.

                Lots of people are discussing Poco X7 Pro which is a great device if you game or edit videos. If you don't game then Snapdragon Elite is just wasting your battery cause there isn't a single piece of hardware in that phone that needs nor can extract its power. But it has a great display and sometimes that's all it matters.

                Im kind of glad people are not fighting over camera performance anymore because all of these phones mentioned above have exact same camere quality - mediocre.

                  Too bad it's no longer 21:9 and the notification LED is apparently really gone for good also at Sony, but as far as smartphones go in 2025, this is obviously the best one can hope for. 🤷‍♂️
                  120 Hz, microSD, 3,5 mm jack, proper fingerprint reader, front facing speakers, no idiotic holes through the screen... Seems there's not much "AI" BS harassment from Sony either, quite refreshing...

                  Would also appreciate a two-stage shutter button, but photography beyond taking a snapshot to convey a piece of info is best left to a real camera anyway 😄 so no big deal.

                  Luckily my 1 III is still going strong so no need to do a downgrade by buying a new phone, but should it die in the next year, this one would be at least a semi-decent replacement unlike everything else on the market. 🤷‍♂️

                      Frankly speaking it's not a great phone, especially not at that price point. But I am still happy that it exists.

                      As long as they keep on maintaining the headphone jack, microSD slot and the notch-less display (and also signature Sony design), I will happily support its existence, even if I will never buy it personally.

                              Byz, 12 Sep 2025It's so disappointing that there is basically no decen... moreYou can pretty easily get rid of of any bloatware from those Chinese phones. I did It myself on my X7 Pro and It didn't even take much time and you are basically doing It only once.
                              But If you are too lazy and instead want to pay for this overpriced sub-par phone then feel free to do so.

                              The only positives of this phone and even that is kinda questionable are:
                              1.) microSD card - but the phone has only 128GB storage to begin with and the card is another expense you have to pay

                              2.) 3.5mm jack - It's good that you are not limited by the battery life of your Bluetooth earplug, but It's not as practical and more prone to accidents from my experience

                              3.) No punch hole - but It has thick bezels
                              And they want 449 euro for this? Sorry Sony, but that's too much.

                              P.S. And that back design is really outdated and cheap, looks like a prototype or something not a retail version, should have used some texture or something. Look for example at X7 Pro backside, although plastic with that eco leather It still looks really good.

                                And their carrier locked models are worse.
                                A custom rom without junks, including google spy apps, is the cleanest.

                                  so instead of making a sequel to the masterful 5 V, they decided to make more e-waste in the form of the 10 VII and a horrendous "flagship" in the 1 VII.

Even CPU are being cycled, 2021's flagship CPU's are now on budget phones!! Some parts though don't age that fast , For example AMOLED screens took more than 10 years to become cheap enough to be on budget phones. Camera sensors is also one of those, a good sensor will stay a good sensor for many years. And the MegaPixel count is nowmore just a gimik , you have to divide it at least by 4, eg. a 50MP camers i actually 50/4 =12.5megapixels !!! a 100MP is just..... 100/8=12.5 real megapixels!!!

                                      What? When did the reviewer got born? Sony had one of the most heavily customized android UI up until their mobile department got almost bankrupt. Who here remember the days of Sony Neo V, a lower tier smartphone with only 256mb of RAM back in the days and it could run a UI pretier than any of todays smartphones. Sony now uses the stock UI in order to save money on development costs. Still i believe it's the best and mos ttrusted phones ( along with Samsung) . Also the Camera UI you see on all Xiaomi phones is just a ripoff from Sony's Camera UI, which in turn comes from their Digital Photographic Cameras !!!

You know, something with usd 300 for example.

                                        Then the Xperia 5 would be a higher midrange with usd 400 and a 8s gen 4 processor

                                        And of course the Xperia 1 with 8 elite and 700 usd.

                                        Then I would be a n1 fan of Sony for sure, cuz for everything else (camera, design, headphone jack, microSD, ESPECIALLY design), their phones are perfect.
