The question is If It really has higher BOM and by how much compared to predecessor.
Let's say the BOM is higher and It ate their profit somewhat, then that means they had to improve the phone to promote sales.
And you can bet that they certainly wouldn't fail profit wise, they have very high margins on them. Thinking otherwise is hilarious. LOL

Did you check the difference between China's and global prices? Just because in China the price stayed the same doesn't necessarily mean globally It would be the same. That's why I said I won't comment It until the global prices are out, but you already made your conclusion even before that. LOL

I can afford It but I will spend my money on better things and for that price the advantages are not worth It over my supposedly "mediocre" phone.
And I don't care If Apple reads my comment or anything, they have enough fans who are willing to pay so much for a phone, I am simply not one of them.
BTW, If you were so willing to attack my post despite not countering any of my points I hope you at least bought every model considering how big a fan you are.

X7 Pro is one of the best mid rangers out there and you call It mediocre?
Then what would you call this Iphone? Are the advantages over my phone worth 3x higher price? I don't think so
Battery life is terrible? Battery life is not worse than other competitors. You can argue that It has a bigger battery in comparison, but that's not important. What user cares about is battery life and not battery size. On the other hand It has a really fast charging, much faster than this iPhone.

IPhone 17 is not a flagship.
Neither is 17 Pro.
If you want a flagship iPhone go for the Pro Max.
Enjoy in that 6.9" brick. Me and many people wants something more compact.
Isn't it a good thing that we have a choice to buy almost flagships but in smaller body? I think it is.
If you personally want a bigger display go for it.
You have zillion options out there. Every new phone is a brick with 6.7-6 8" screen size on average.

Best iPhone since the 13 series ones. If I had a budget of less than 1100 dollars and wasnt looking for a telephoto, hands down this what i'd get.

Just like at the launch of iPhone 16e, Pixel 9a, Galaxy S25 FE. But for those not listening to those reviewers/commentators that completely lack critical thinking, the best deal will be had in the summer (of 2027) when the 18 got its discounts. Just this time around, there is still the luxury that it releases together with the other models. That’s why it will be remembered as the best value iPhone for a long time, just like iPhone 11 which dropped the price before 12 raised it. If it’s not the highest end model and best of the best, there is no reason buying a new phone on launch because shortly after it will be discounted and one can save even more money.
