Xiaomi official site confirms it has a hardware proximity sensor, though the review mentions otherwise, anyone else can confirm?

But the 2x is not completely useless. The main sensor is not that large. 2x crop would not have same quality. I compared 14T Tele with 14T Pro main crop. 14T Tele looks a tat sharper, and the 14T has smaller main sensor than the Pro. The phone make useable 4x crop from Tele as well. The main wouldn't do anything useful at 4x.
And for the Mi 9T, it's Tele was completely useless. Why the pictures were sharp, contrast, dynamic range and color rendition were very bad. Saturation was abysmal. Completely pale pictures. I ended up with cropping from the main. And while sharpness was not that great, overall the pictures were much more likeable. That was with GCam mod, though. The original cam software was much worse. Xiaomi did make big steps there.
I switched from 9T to 14T, and that's a big step in all areas (well battery lifetime could be better). But Tele did the biggest step. Specially at night.
The Pop-up selfie was a nice feature, though.

the battery on 15T is better than 14T by significant margin
the EU label also confirm its better than average of its class range (durability, count cycles, drop test)

Agree with 3x telephoto. Just increase the price a little bit. The price gap with the Pro is far enough at the moment.

Only justifying from the spec on paper is a noob :D

It's a soild phone for sure but I'm disappointed to see only a 2x telephoto camera.. the main sensor is capable enough to produce really nice 2x cropped shots so why don't they put a 3.5x or 3x periscope or even a 2.8x or 2.6x telephoto instead?
My 6 year old Mi 9T also has a 2x telephoto.. it's not special anymore given that Vivo, Oppo, Moto all put at least 3x tele cameras in their phones in that same price range.
Not to mention that the Mi 9T also had a metal frame unlike this plastic 15T.

For the comparison you forgot about the Poco x7 pro which I got for €250. It has the same CPU and is very close in performance

Even we turn it off, who knows what b... moreWhile that may be true, the good thing about Xiaomi devices is you can unlock bootloader, flash custom ROM, root the device and debloat it to the maximum. With Xiaomi you are in control. Not many phones manufacturers allow you to unlock the bootloader nowadays. Xiaomi is one the few remaining ones. Maybe also Sony, Motorola...

Come on.. Gsmarena teams don't know the difference between glass fiber and fiberglass.. Just use search engine or ask AI!
If the frame is plastic (true) combine with plastic back (false), it won't feel solid just what it's said as pros.

Here the price is 549€ but it comes with a Redmi Pad 2 Pro included... Making it an absolute bargain.
PS: Amazon has the same deal offering the Tablet for both the 15T and the 15T Pro for 749€.
