Right now without all those essential features this device costs $300 according to the specs page.
And an sd card slot is worth $0.02 and the NFC chip costs $0.25
So in reality this device without all those essential required features, is only worth about $302.50

    This tablet is optimized for offline multimedia consumption as well as for reading books and magazines.
    The microXD card slot enables to easily add like 1 TB or even more storage, that can carry your entire collection of movies and music, as well as entire libraries worth of books.
    When you are on vacation and don't have reliable or cheap WiFi, then this will get you covered.
    Some ingress protection would have been nice, but who is actually using their tablet outdoors during rain or snow, and who goes swimming with their tablet?
    So, the omission of ingress protection can be forgiven.
    And to all those folks missing on celkular connectivity aka 3G, 4G, and 5G: If yoz don't have Wifi available, just use yozr own phone as a mobile hotspot.

              Other than those missing essential features, this could very be one of the best tablets in town this year.

              I pay $500 if you add all the missing features! GO ! Do it now!

                          there is a cellular version as it's already listed on xiaomi singapore website. like always xiaomi is being selective about which region or country get the cellular version or even the matte version or even the higher ram version as some country like thailand only one version which is the 128gb version there is no other version in sight and whether other version will come or not eventually will depends on xiaomi marketing strategy and it seems like xiaomi will release for example cellular version to country with richer spending power eg singapore while less spending power country like thailand will have to wait a while if it eventually come if. until today it still baffled me on how xiaomi releases it tablet and it can't seem to understand people needs a cellular version more than just wifi but this no cellular connectivity applies to all chinese manufacturers

                              Jsy go for Xiaomi pad 7. Better in everything and the same price.

                                I expected it to be great, happy to see confirmation. Amazing for the price point. While the Pad 7 is faster without a doubt, this offers QoL features like SD card and 3.5mm audio jack for multimedia enjoyment, and the processor isn't a slow turtle either.

                                  Cellular version (5G) is coming out on 1 November in Hong Kong as I know, it should also go global

                                    excellent tablet, the only downside is the charging speed..
