Xiaomi 17 Pro Max review

"Somewhat ironic given that this year's Xiaomi 17 Max's rear screen makes it so easy to take excellent selfies with the rear camera that your selfie camera might not see as much action as on other phones."
I guess the only reason they put the selfie camera is for online meetings. I'm not sure if the secondary rear display can support many apps, including web call apps.

Disappointed with Oppo Find X9 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max camera system, both are disappointing. Waiting for vivo X300 Pro review. After vivo X200 Ultra being so excellent overall camera, these two are disappointing next to X200 Ultra.

Interesting.
Average performance of this phone during stress-test is lower than Snapdragon 8 gen3 in Samsung S24U

Ss, 31 Oct 2025Which one is better, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max vs Oppo X9 Pro vs Vi... moreDepends exactly what you want, but as a whole, the Oppo Find X9 Pro. The 17 Pro Max has the cool rear display, sure, but the cameras were compromised a bit in order for that to happen. The X300 Pro brings very small upgrades over the X200 Pro, so you might as well go with the X200 Pro. The Find X9 Pro overall seems the winner in my eyes.

Wesker, 30 Oct 2025I remember the deluded Samsung & Apple fanboys who said... moreAlmost double the web browsing endurance compared to the S25 ultra. Samsung's 5000 mAh battery won't be enough for the S26 Ultra.

As the proud owner of a Mi Note 10 Pro from a few years ago, I have been checking into GSMArena regularly to see if any android phone can improve on it, especially in the Ultrawide angle department with special reference to Ultrawide sweep panoramas that only the iPhones can , so far, do at all well.
But here again nothing. Less than nothing if you look at the tiny sensor fronting the 17 (not 14mm) lens. An ultrawide takes in a far greater field of view at the same distance settings compared to a normal wide main camera, so it in fact NEEDS a far larger sensor than the main camera to achieve the same detail resolution at the same distance that an ordinary 24mm widee lens does, and fashionistas the ONLY reason you do not get an ultrawide sensor at least the same size as the main camera is because manufacturers believe you want very thin flat phones with the smallest possible bump for the lenses, and enlarging the sensors on tele and ultrawide lenses demands fatter phones as the focus distance from the lens to the surface of the sensor increases with lens speed and focal length. It is why your main camera is a wide-angle and not a standard lens equivalent (43-52mm on a 35mm full-frame camera). Wider the angle narrower the phone, so I may be wrong about the dreadful sensors meted out to Ultrawide lenses (even Apple are guilty here), as really they all need somebody to redesign the ultrawide lenses to be much bigger faster and in front of sensors even bigger than a main camera lens to compete in quality with the main camera.
As someone able to get a genuine 25MP RAW file from my old Xiaomi with its 108MP sensor on the main camera lens, I look to a future where we can all enjoy like resolution quality on Ultrawide and tele lenses, and to me I bigger bulge in my pocket is a very small price to pay for photographs that are no longer an embarrassment even to the olders users of Kodak Instamatic.

Not sure why people are complaining about the camera, at the least the real camera which is the main one. This phone has the most balanced photos compared to vivo300 HDR nuclear puke of an image and Oppo X9 Pro which is fine but uses some cheap AI detail retention.
I don't care about uw and telephoto since they are there only for your convenience as image quality disparity between the two and the main camera is very significant. That is true to every phone out there.

Hey GSMArena team, You have an add problem again and I am forced to used adblocker. The full background ads mess-up with a big portion of your UI.
For example when looking at camera samples the ad takes too much space I dint even see full photo and the next and prev buttons is hidden. I dont want to use an adblocker on your site but Its the only option for now
