Why do you think that the chipset is the only thing that makes the phone a phone? Xiaomi is notoriously poor at providing customer support and sensible updates. I still can't comprehend why Hyper OS doesn't allow you to make customizations of your work profile, using different sound notification for a given app, nor does it allow the use of any other ringtones other than the ones for the man profile. So you are stuck with sounds and ringtones set for your default profile. My attempts to talk to technical personnel on the Xiaomi support forum ended up in failure with none of the people I spoke to distinguishing the Android Work Profile from Xiaomi Enterprise workspace. This is total ignorance and unprofessionalism. While this is not relevant for 80 % of the users - it clearly shows why Xiaomi doesn't care nor understand the peculiarities of the Android system for advanced use. Now before you make a comment keep in mind that I had a Poco X6 pro back in 2023 for 2 months trying to make it work the way i want. Absolutely useless for what i wanted it. I bought a Pixel 6 pro afterwards and bingo - the Android experience is so much more practical and intuitive, and most of all, FUNCTIONAL.

Anonymous, 21 Dec 2025Tensor 3 is not powerful 😂😂😂yea idk what copium that pixel user is smoking but I had a pixel 8a before and it was heating up just running youtube so I returned it the same day I got it lmao. It couldn't even hold up in terms of battery, efficiency and performance to my old poco f3 as the g3 soc just throttles down so horribly that I wouldn't even consider google phones in the future.

Poco is one of the best phone to me but I also wish if they come out with nice and proper design. The camara space for too

There's a decent amount of features that may be useful, but also a lot that no one really wants. Most of them feel like gimmicks, and some implementations are really not that great. I havent really found anything "uniquely" HyperOS except the fact that the battery optimization is so aggressive its difficult to have multiple applications open without one of them being refreshed every time you tab back to it. My biggest annoyance, most prevalent in Xiaomi, is the per-app settings (e.g., enabling Autostart for an app) ALWAYS gets reset randomly, for god knows what reason, despite turning off battery optimizations in every possible setting, it just refuses to acknowledge user settings and resets app settings very frequently.
imo, yes it really is as bad as people claim, and yes I have owned multiple Xiaomi devices, not just from the Poco lineup. Compared to OneUI, OxygenOS, ColorOS, its the worst experience I've had so far, having used phones with the aforementioned OS as well as HyperOS.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2025less jarring than miui. definitely still not stock-likeactually i've been using stock android for most of my life, so i want to try something different, especially something with a lot of features and customisations - the only phone i tried without stock os was a huawei before the ban for a short while, it had EMUI i think

So, my recommend is poco is one the best phone to me.. I don't know for others but for me the best phone ever 😊

Playing video games outdoors (excluding public transport) as this defeats the purpose of being outside unless the intent is to pass time while waiting. Mobile gamers love to point out how portability is an advantage but the simple fact is that most gaming takes places in either the bedroom or living so that makes that point rather moot.
"People can game anywhere they want, you don't get to decide where they want to invest their time" I never said people are restricted to certain locations for gaming nor did I say that how and where they choose to invest their time is dictated by me

Yes, the keyword, cheap, also because the cheap smartphone price that get cut corner, it is a chicken and egg question. Just be ready to pay more and look carefully on the smartphone spec then you can get rid of this 8MP ultra wide, how about just buy the POCO F8 Ultra, or Xiaomi 15T Pro, Honor 400 Pro. Those are not bad smartphone, but might not down to the price of POCO F8 Pro, or just buy the old POCO F7 Ultra.
