Anonymous, 23 Dec 2025"There is still no official information on the number ... moreMajor updates = OS updates. There's a common misunderstanding regarding the 6/2025 EU law or directive: It does not force any number of OS updates, BUT it forces a minimum of 5 years of security patches from all smartphones released after June 21, 2025. These are the true facts. We can now always know that the minimum is 5 years of security patches - or even more if it's told by the manufacturer, but unfortunately we can't know how many Android OS updates the phone will get until the manufacturer releases that info. Here's an example: OnePlus 15 (900-1000 €) was released in 11/2025 and it was promised 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches. It may sound good, but for a flagship it's very disappointing. OnePlus Nord 5 (~300€) got the same promise, and the great HONOR 400 (349€ for 8/512gb model) gets 6 years OS updates + 6 years of security patches. No wonder then that HONOR 400 just won the European prestigious EISA 2025-26 award in the category Best Smartphone of the year.

Aqua257, 25 Dec 2025I think the that cpu can't handle 120hz very well etc ... more👎 Stupid comment. We're not interested in your fake beliefs. That's called trolling, 120 Hz works flawlessly on weaker CPU's like on Xiaomi 12 Lite, Poco M5 Pro 5g, etc.

Great battery, pretty sharp display, decent main camera, no throttling and overheating, sub €400 phone? Guys, it's midrange territory and this one has it all. If you look for a faster SoC you will find some at this price point, but with the worse battery life and higher throttle I don't think you'll enjoy it for long enough to see the difference. I say they finally got the bad parts of the Magic Lite series corrected, as it needs to be, Lite. No big bumps, no over the top processors, but midrange everything. As I said for the Honor 400 Smart 4G, Honor is really doing a good job at allocating good phones in each price segment, and I say this as a hardcore Motorola fan, who never had a Honor device but is considering one for my next

"There is still no official information on the number of guaranteed major updates, but we can't see this Lite phone getting more than 3."

How can this be. EU is forcing 5 years of updates and all Chinese OEMs just ignore them. Moto is being stupid and say they can provide 0 update if they want. EU is just cool with it.

Not bad phone but the design is wery wierd.

g99 with a 50 euros reduction in price and i will buy 2

                !

                  I don't think 18 hours is a great score from 7500mAh on a phone with a non-powerful processor.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2025Where's the review of the Honor Magic 8 Pro?Yep that would be interesting...not these weak subpar budget phones with weak cameras and snapdragon 6 gen 4...jeez

This phone is fine for everyone who dont care cams so much (practicly most of normal people).

The Honor 400 Lite for 200 Euro seems like a much better value. It has a selfie flash, Wasim and same Android version. Question is, who needs all this protection. I think IP64 with a good case may be sufficient for many.

You can argue that those are not vastly better smartphone, but at least on performance wise, I have no complain. And for Honor brand, speaking of sub $300 smartphone, I think better get an Honor 400, or pay $450 to $500 to get Honor 400 Pro.

... reminds me my iPod 1st generation 😭

Not bad, could be a good option for buyers in the $300 range once it drops down in price.

Battery life is good but it shows how important optimization is. For example this has similar battery life to the recently reviewed POCO F8 Pro, while having a 20% larger battery.
