But I assure you that there are alot of reason why we do not go for C905. For one the screen is very small for a 8 mp contender, second video recording is absolutely ancient plus insisting the use of memory stick card which is very expensive. No pdf viewer and yet physically very thick.

deepenigma, 12 Nov 2008Gsmarena review is not the final word, read some other revi... moreI could clearly see Innov8 produces more details in daylight and natural color. The image processing is faster as well. And that's not just gsmarena samples. If you take quality, details, color saturation, LG doesn't scrore that high either. And finally if it's so hard to tell which is a clear winner in image department, then it comes to the rest of it. C905 is too expensive for what it offers. You should read the C905's review at mobile-review as well. Below is some extract.

"Sony Ericsson has recommended the price of 550 Euro, which is exactly the price bracket where the Samsung INNOV8 resides in. Needless to say it tears the C905 apart on almost every single front and, more importantly, it has been on sale for almost a month now. Being an S60 smartphone with 16 Gb of storage onboard (we will see a pared-down 8 Gb edition down the road too, although it'll be almost 100 Euro cheaper), support for memory cards, 3.5 mm audio jack, huge display, rock solid build, comparable battery time and a DSP, it's a clear winner if it's price/quality ratio that matters to you most. Techi, who have always been one of the key audiences for Sony Ericsson and C905-esque solutions, will sway more towards the Samsung INNOV8 as well." ---Bottom line is SE should have kept the price much lower for C905.

Gsmarena review is not the final word, read some other review, mobile-review has said that neither of these sets can be decalared better than the other in terms of picture quality, c905 and innov8 and renoir offer almmost same functionality, if samsung is better at daylight then c905 is better at low light, but the point is that there is not much difference in pictures in daylight and there is much difference in low light because of the xenon in c905.
And why can't we use our own eyes? There are many photos by c905 that looks much better than innov8 or renoir.
Its like the K850 vs N95 thing, most people think N95 has better cam, but if you read the review at mobile-review, K850 has outperformed N95 in terms of natural colors and realistic pictures while N95 produce unnatural colors with too much saturation. And my personal experience is the same, K850 takes great pictures, you just need to know what settings to use.
Anyway if you are looking for an all in all gadget then Innov8 looks good, because of its superior video recording and symbian os(although it does'nt mean anything for many people out there who just need a mobile with good cam and sound), but if you just need a great cam and sound, great interface and customization you should go for C905.

These devices are high quality items of engineering. However a dedicated digital camera remains the better choice for picture quality. These however offer all-round appeal.

Why don't all phone cameras come with Xenon Flash ?

                      1. Cost
Putting in a Xenon Flash unit more expensive

                      2. Power
Physics dictates(even after allowing for power efficiency variation) that if more light energy is created then more power will ultimately be drawn from the phone's battery.

                      3. No Continous Mode
Most LED Flash units can operate "on" all the time, if needed, for recording a video sequence, for example

                      4. Extra LED Needed Anyway
Even though the main flash is Xenon, a LED light is needed anyway in order that the camera can focus in dark conditions, a head of the Xenon Flash triggering and the photo being taken.

                      5. Close-Ups Can Be Spoiled
When shooting something very close-up, the sheer amount of light can be a problem, washing out the subject.

And how much difference is there in the day light between pictures taken by C905 and Innov8??Does C905 take really bad pictures in the daylight? the answer is NO, it takes great pictures too. So even if we consider that Innov8 is slightly better still a common eye may not be able to differenciate that little difference at all. Not everyone is a technical expert on the image quality, I bet if you take pictures from both cams the difference will be so little that it will definitely not hrt to choose C905 because of the xenon flash. And please don't tell me that xenon does'nt make a difference, I have a K800 also and xenon DOES make a differene. I am sure if it was the innov8 that carried xenon all samsung lovers would be pointing to that and would have declared a big plus for samsung. But since it does'nt have it so you are just ignoring the fact that xenon is must for a high end camera.
I am not saying that samsung or LG are bad, I am just saying that people who are looking for a good camera phone will be more satisfied with C905 as it takes almost similar pictures compared to innov8 or renoir and takes BETTER pictures at night. And SE is really good with firmware updates, its possible that after a firmware update SE cam will surpass all other rivals.

deepenigma, 11 Nov 2008If you are a serious camera fan than you wil ultimately tur... moreXenon is a nice to have.
I can still take nice photos at night with my N73 without Xenon.
Great Night photos not neccesary have to be as bright as day light.
Its still depends on individual preferences.
Frankly speaking, me and people around me do have a lot of activities at day light. like sports, gathering, shop, travelling ... etc.
I can take great photos at day light with Innov8 and Renoir.
I can take great video clips at day light too.
I don't think night photos taken by innov8 or renoir is as bad as the review. With certain distant and some technique, im sure i can take good photos with innov8 and renoir.
But one think for sure C905 cannot do is to take great video.
I will not sacrifice Video Recording Capability for some ok and not really too great night shot.

deepenigma, 11 Nov 2008If you are a serious camera fan than you wil ultimately tur... moreXENON has its advantages and disadvantages specially with C905.

While indoors in most cases the C905's xenon kicks in, regardless of whether it's an appropriate moment or not. At times even a snap without flash looks miles better.
The effective distance of C905's flash is around 2.5 meters. Shooting from less than one meter away produces glints here and there as the flash proves to be a little too powerful. Innov8 produces much smoother and eye-pleasing images in those cases.
But when it comes to shooting from afar, the Sony Ericsson C905 seems like a clear winner. For a in depth flash comparison between C905 and Innov8 go to:
                              http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-c905cam-en.shtml

So you know if you want great night shots with C905 all you have to do is take the snap from a certain distance..not too close not too far. I don't think you will be doing so all the time in party.

and No, I dont think anyone will regret having Innov8. It's not just the 8mp cam. It's a whole package..be it symbian..or it's sound department which is unmatched, where as C905 only has 8mp cam to talk about. SE would need a year or so to match Innov8 as a phone.

If you are a serious camera fan than you wil ultimately turn towards C905..you know why??

                                XENON

Yes folks..thats right, xenon flash is the most important part of the camera and without it you will always miss some good nights shots and frankly speaking, how many parties and functions are there at day times? Most people who will buy LG or Samsung will definitely regret thier decision because at night LG and Samsung will surely suck big time, although LG renoir is suppose to have xenon but as confirmed by gsmarena the flash is not that powerfull and in fact can be only compared with a led.
And at day times even if samsung is a little better(which I SERIOUSLY doubt) the difference will be so much unnoticeable that you will be thinking hard that why the heck you lost xenon for such a small difference in quality?
About symbian...I don't get it, how many softwares do you need in a mobile?I thought peope use PC's for this, I am a software freak and most of the people here would not have installed as much softwares in thier whole life as much I have installed on my system right now. But I never needed an OS for my mobile. SE phones are fast and reliable and the customization is AWESOME and BRILLIANT because of its great software, I have modded my W810 to such an extent that I have got everything that I ever wanted without any need of an OS.
But anyway the choice is yours :-)
