Nokia E63 review: E for Economy

07 January 2009
Nokia E63 is the next QWERTY messenger by Nokia, set on the glorious path of the E71. Only this time it slips off the high heels to walk it in plain straight and simple boots instead. And the matching price tag leaves little doubt of what this Working Joe here is all about...

Only really poor people would buy this device. The E71 is much, much better than this for a fraction extra. The E63 has been on sale for over 2 weeks out here and my local dealer has moved a grand total of 20 units compared with 50+ E71s in the same period.

        'NaviTMKey' from the Nokia website
R u sure GSM Arena that there isn't one?
I was going to get one, but then i read this, and now im confused
It would be a shame if it didn't as Nokia says it does, and if it doesn't, then it would be a dealbreaker for me
        Please reply!!

            @ Sarim
You better think before you write such stupid crap.... Or head over to N-Series!

E-Series is for business, and no manager will need a camera or GPS or radio tools!!!

E63 will make its way! It´s a great phone.

It is amazing business phone for affordable price. why the middle managers need GPS in their phones, or high megapixel camera? It is all about battery life and connectivity. Where did you find another Wifi enabled qwerty phone for 200+taxes eur?

obviously its not ment to be pitched for E71 users so its no brainer you don't like it. price is key to this phone. there are few qwerty keyboards in the market at a low price and nokia recognised this.

Hey E63 had a track wheel navigation D-pad na gsmarena only had stated dat in their previews of difference between E71 and E63 when E63 was finally launched.
Nokia site also states that E63 has track wheel keypad.
It has no mention in the entire review is handset final market product or test piece????

Does Nokia really expect a business man/consultant (the target market for the E63) to pull a candy blue or lipstick red phone out of his pocket at a meeting? No thanks, I'll stick with Curve 8320 and E71.
Nokia have really shot themselves in the foot with this one.

I don't know. The iphone really changed the way I look at smartphones. How can you work off such a small display? The N97 design is the more ideal form factor for a smartphone. For me, a smartphone's display should at least be 3.0 inches.

Just looks cheap...especially for what is meant to be a business phone, not my taste at all especially with those garish colours. Just emphasises how plastic the phone is. E71's muuuuuch nicer :)
