Hey guys..I need your serious help....I was initially searching for phone upto Rs 15000,then landed on LG arena...saw video reviews and gone through its feature specs...somehow....kinda like this phone...now I have few queries......would be nice if you experts can help...
1) what is the key difference between ..normal OS(like what Arena must be having) in comparison to Android and Windows system,What will be better , keeping the future in mind.
2)What is the actual price of this phone..i have read from 19k-24k....god knows,what is the real price of this phone.
3)can you suggest any other phone between 10-20k......full touch screen.....I am anti Nokia by the way and somehow...Sansung Star series...didnt impressed me much....I was searching for HTC,Asus,Acer touch screen phones.
4)I can wait till Dec 09...to buy the phone...I am sure..Arena wont come down to 15k range by then.....any upcoming phone...that you guys must be aware....that I should probably wait for?
5)Hows this phone..somehow..not much promotion......even shopkeepers advises not to go for LG phones.....,,,hmm...With....world being the market for touch screen phones now days......huge no of new series is lined up till december.....I am sure...LG and Samsung will be dominators.....specialy in 20k range phones....
I am buying the new phone after 3 years...so want the best among the available ones...pls advice....I be waiting...thnks,,,,,

andreba, 07 Apr 2009Awesome phone indeed, but the proprietary USB port is a dea... moreok here it is my samsung i900 also has a proprietary usb that becomes a pain but we have both phones arena and the omnia and used the iphone very well and ranking the phones being 1 best is the in my opinion are as follows the arena iphone and omnia all three phone are a treat to our ears....

Not really sure what people have a problem with the battery life, my Lg Arena holds battery for 2 to 3 days.. and i text a fair bit use the internet etc. This phone is fab, i have not had any problems with it what so ever and had it for over a month! Bit fed up with people comparing it to the iPhone.. if u like the iPhone so much go get a bliming iPhone!!!!!!!

I think it's toooo poor when u must copy another design and spec. interface (Arena is almost clone of iPhone)...Phone is very good just cam quality is not something special but OK...Worst thing on this phone is battery life (it's hard to keep it 24h with normal using)...

terrible battery life. i got just 8hrs, although iwas messing around with it a bit. still. should have got more battery life.
other than that, not a bad phone in all.
java apps do work on this phone.
i am gonna try to take this back on the battery grounds, can`t put up with it i am affraid.

Over View
Just got the new LG Arena. I have previously had the LG Viewty and was interested to see how it compares. At 1st i was abit worried i wouldnt like it as the Viewty is much more simple however after putting it on charge and having a good look through its menus etc im really impressed. Although the Camera is the same (5MP) i does seem a better quality.
Security
Really impressed, Arena actually allows you to lock certain applications like SMS, Pictures, Documents. Ideal if you dont want people going through your stuff.
A-GPS
Well it works via google maps and does pick up your current location, doesnt give audio directions but does keep on your location when your wanting directions.
Bluetooth and USB
PC suite is very simple, loads everything, simple to move music and files accross. easy to use as modem for internet, was very impressed with the speed, went out in my car and parked up, works very well so laptop lovers dont bother getting a 3G wireless USB modem, just link the arena to your laptop, you can also do it without a USB cable so simple put the phone in you pocket and have your laptop out.
Music and sound quality.
Good sound but was expecting better with the dolby but still better than any other phone.

You can use the viewty battery in it so now i have two!

Numaan, 27 Mar 2009what about the audio quality and telephony - speaker phone ... moreagreed! that's the first thing i look at when reading these in depth reviews and one of the highlights of a gsmarena review.
makes me wonder why gsmarena would omit the speaker test on this one. perhaps it's not as good as the phone claims to be?
as it is, i'm not impressed with the video playback quality.

Hmm.. average phone that won't interest any cell phone enthusiasts IMO. The upcoming Omnia HD is way better than this.

Awesome phone indeed, but the proprietary USB port is a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. I am really tired of running out of USB ports on the PC and hunting around for weird unlabeled proprietary cables - when LG adopts a standard port on the next Arena I'll be the first in line to buy one.

Sorry you are incorrect. The LG Parada came out one month before the iPhone. Apple didn't copy them, also Apple showed off the iPhone at the WWDC in January 07 so how could they copy LG? If Apple did copy LG why is it that the iPhone is better than any of LG touch screen phones
