Hey please tell something to Samsung

I want the lens cover back, im going to pay alot of money for this phone and in few months later im going to have problems with the camara lens?, emmm no thanks; and also what is that cheap platic in the back? come on if this phone is going to be the best phone on the market at least use the best materials, not plastic for the batery cover. the first Omnia HD showed in Barcelona i think it was better that this one it would be better for samsung to take the best of the first release and combine it with the best of this new release so we all benefit with the best phone

are you serious Samsung? Your selling point of this product is the camera and video capabilities which means the LENS is THE crucial part of the whole phone, yet you REMOVE THE LENS COVER?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

"Unfortunately, we couldn't get any HD videos to play on the Omnia HD except for the ones taken by its own camera. Plus most of the HD videos come in the MKV file container, which is not recognized by the Omnia HD. Another known restriction, is that it cannot play video files larger than 2GB."

With the exception of streaming HD content to a TV wirelessly, WHY OH WHY would you want to play 1080p (1920x1280) OR 720p (1280x720) videos on a 640x360 screen? What sense does that make? For playback on the device, SD content is MORE than enough for the videos to look gorgeous on that screen. The only "HD" part of the i8910 is the video recording and that's how it's always supposed to be.

Either way, I'll be posting my opinion about the sound on their board. It really is terrible.

What about sound quality during calls? I read on another review that it's bad. This might be a deal breaker for some.

Anonymous, 12 May 2009TV-out (for SD content only) ???????/ what means ?????With current Symbian phones you can get an adapter that goes in the 3.5mm jack and outputs using composite so you can plug into your TV. Samsung haven't released their own but there's no reason why the Nokia one won't work - I use it on my Samsung INNOV8 i8510.

GSM Arena needs to get a final version of this unit... the Plastic backing and everything on the final version is actually metal and looks different. There is an Italian site that has the final version of this phone and it works perfectly... GPS on this thing is SICK.

It really was between either the nokia N97 (I woke up early enough to order it at the reduced pricing... but didn't pull the trigger) or this. To me- for my money, the Samsung Omnia is the best phone on the market--- gps, loud speakers, records in HD, is expandable, interface works well --- I don't care about games... I have an iphone that I can switch to if I need apps... HD is all business.

it's much too big...they should have made it as big as the shiny metallic surround (as in: without the extra plastic pieces)

I also don't like the design, not rounded off, odd angles and curves, it's as if design was an afterthought..

I used to have the old Omnia and it is very slow especially if you are trying to assess the address book as I have more than five thousand contact in my address book. Is the new one better? or do anyone have any suggestion for a phone that is fast?

Just wondering which mobile(between the N97 or the Omnia HD) will have a louder ringtone as I work as a builder and sometimes becuase of the noise you can't hear anything!. Mind you, i still own the N95 and I havent found a fone with a better sound. I know it is time to upgrade so also I'm wondering if the skype application will finally be available in the N97!

                                  I like it...

now only if Sony PSP comes with a serious upgrade (hopefully at E3), else i'm buying this

I already have Nokia N82 so my main purpose is multimedia for next gadget.

The camera samples are terrible, it's not the same as with the almost perfect quality of the innov8 that i enjoy looking at. theres a lot of artifacts, look at the roof on some samples, and compare it with the ones taken by innov8 you'll get what i mean. this is probably due to a smaller sensor (obviously at 12.9mm which is 5mm thinner than innov8 the camera module and sensor should be smaller. Even Tocco II's camera samples are artifact-free, probably due to a smaller sensor

Just spoke to Orange UK, they have the Omnia HD and are testing at the moment. They hope to release to public in a matter of days providing all tests are positive & no major problems arise! Cannot wait for it to be released....this time next week i could have it in my hands.....!!!!!!!!
