best nokia touchphone if you dont need 3g and GPS. sleeker, lighter and touch sensitive gree,white, red button that can only be found on this nokia handset. just checked the price here in the Philippines and it costs around 11,000(cheapest i have checked) to around 12,500 pesos, Rupees and Philippine peso are almost the same. I think 14k rupees is too much

I received an email from Nokia top official sometime before and he says there is further delay in release of this phone in India and he does not say when exactly it will be released here.
Now it is confirmed that Nokia was conducting all their press meet only to create hype in the consumer mind and trying to fool them with their false announcements.

Nokia is going crazy by once again confirming the price of Nokia 5530 for Rs.14,029/- in India. They think people are ignorant to buy this phone which is more than the present 5800 phone. Check the Financial Express News given below.

Kolkata: Nokia is betting big on the touch interface in 2010, starting the year with the launch of Nokia 5230 and 5530 XpressMusic. “In 2010, there will be a great deal of activity in the touch portfolio of Nokia. The company is focused on taking the touch experience to the masses by launching new solutions at competitive price points,” said Viral Oza, head-activation, media & online marketing, at the launch in the city on Wednesday.
By 2012, 40% of the mobile devices will incorporate touch interface, according to the company. Nokia 5230 is priced at Rs 9,389 and 5530 XpressMusic at Rs 14,029. Oza hinted at touch devices at a lower price range as well in the future, but declined to give details.

Nokia 5800 available for less than Rs.13,500/-. But Nokia 5530 with less features when compared to 5800 costs Rs.14029/-.
Did Nokia ever think that people are not so ignorant to buy this phone with high costs? It failed to release this phone on time and still Nokia does not have any clear idea about its availability date for its Indian customers.

MARC, 27 Dec 2009i searched ALL DAY for how to use the voice command thing! ... moreThe Call Button is the Green button on the left side at the bottom, the same button that you press to make a call, or get to the call logs. Just hold it down, a tone will sound, if Voice Command is not activated, a help menu will appear.

the phone is awosome gr8 device the kinetic scroll is the best and effects used for closing application and open application,as well as for menu are just more than a nokia really a gr8 experience but i wonder nokia would have made the bigger 5800 as compact and fast and gr8 looking, effects very friendly in nokia the best touch experience so far I've had but only few things it lacks are the front cam and many features 5800 have but 5800 is like using a piece of crap touch is so aweful no affects like 5530 which makes the user unhappy if you've used the the 5530

I got an update from Nokia Officials that Nokia 5530 will be launched in India by the 2nd week of January 2010 after fixing all bugs in it. Lets wait and see.

help with this device please? the shortcuts bar, has disappeared, and I can't accesss the telephony to make a call. How can I solve this? without accessing the telephony I have no way to make a hard reset. What can I do? Help?
Those considering this device, think again. I was in love with it when i heard about it and when i had it the first few days, but then you'll start to realise that the os is crap. and yes the browser has flash...

I hope it will be launched on Nov 15. Nokia should justify this delay by providing a bug free and hardware failure free phone.
