In your comment, you have not mentioned that you have tried to update the phone. The lack thing, maybe caused by the obsolete software version. Try to update it first via SE official website (recommended) or through your phone directly. I had the same problem with my SE W508. So suddenly, the system went so freaking slow, yet I have enough free phone memory and card memory. After i updated the software, fuala!, no more lagging thing and now it works just 100% fine.

After reading what u guys at gsm have written and a lotta comments on this page i can conclude: X2 is basically the same damn thing that X1 is! Same CPU? Same Ram and ROM? basically the "biggest" update is the camera and nowadays phones ar not just important because of the camera... X1 is cheaper and is basically the same damn thing... I love SE but i would rather prefer to buy a Satio than spending €500 in this while X1 still already much cheaper...

Keyboard shows remarkable close resemblance with the good old Psion Revo. Better a good copy than a bad invention?

I've read all the comments on here and I think most people are missing the fact that the X2 will be a niche market smartphone. When the X1 was announced, it appeared to be close to ground breaking in its design and the fact that a company other than HTC was going to be releasing a decent-sounding WinMo phone. Then suddenly Samsung announced the Omnia with a decent 5 mpix camera and managed to ship it months before the X1 hit the shelves.

At this stage in the game, everyone is actually waiting for the X10, but many of us feel that we might want to stick to WinMo for the business advantages it offers while at the same time wanting a really good camera. This is a niche. Even the HTC HD2 is all about the business/multimedia combo, not the imaging/business combo.

I have a Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch HD and my current device is the Samsung Omnia HD (i8910). The latter is excellent and in almost every aspect out-classes the X2 on the spec sheet. Still, it's camera has issues (dropped frames in video recording that seldom reaches 24 fps, speed issues in taking stills and problems in low lighting) and it is handicapped by the fact that it's a Symbian phone put out by Samsung, i.e. no XT9 on qwerty, no portrait qwerty, no call recording, 3rd-party video call issues (all pertaining to either the fact that Samsung is held back by the OS or the general system being held back by the fact that a load of things are proprietary Nokia although they should have been included in the free-standing OS).

The X2 has the potential of offering a good camera with an excellent business/emailing OS while awaiting the X10, which in itself is a black horse. How ever you cut it, the X2 has a market, even among early adopters. If that's true, it will certainly find a market in the general population.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2009for ur info x1 is 3inch and x2 is 3.2inch, when you do not ... moreYes I make a mistake, X1 only 3" and this X2 3.2" So? 0.2" is not a huge different. It still too small for WM. X1 and X2 is bassically same beside bigger pixel camera.

Dario, 30 Sep 2009I was really excited about the X1 but it turned out to be a... moreDon't mind but there are people who use stylus for one reason or another. For example me, I never had to use stylus to use any of touch screen cell phones, including China's one. But I have to use stylus because there are times when I feel more comfortable "Writing" my note/email/message. Not only this but since I am a designer I sometimes use cell phone to draw concept of logos while I am not at pc or when I don't get on to pc. So it comes in handy. I will not look at phones with no stylus with them but X2, sure it will be mine.

I wish someone would put to rest the idea that the Xperia 2 will see North America. Today, I received an e-mail from Sonyericsson saying that the X2 would NOT be available in the US or North America. In fact, the way I read their e-mail to me the X2 will be released selectively in Europe..so I believe that they are looking at the Asian market. The SE e-mail was as firm a NO as I have ever seen.
