Bought this phone on amazon to use in Trinidad on Digicel network. Its potentially a great little phone but it seems that LG screwed up with this. I cant find any apps (specific for it) nor can i log in to the Air Sync. I wish i could do more with it. The battery time sucks unless you have it on power savings mode which turns off the screen in 10 secs. Like the screen and touch.

I've been using this phone for 3 weeks and i haven got any major problems. I really love the auto focus and the edit function. And the secondary camera is really useful. Apart from that i would like people using this phone to try this app called bubble breeze. It's damn cool.. You blow bubbles through the Mic and it's blow-controlled! So far it's cool and i really recommend others to get this phone. To be frank.. I'm just 13, but i think you can trust me. :)

Buyer Beware - I bought this phone two months ago and have only used it for a week because I've been having constant problems with it. Two main issues: 1. phone gets uncomfortably hot (esp since the earpiece is metallic) and 2. software hangs. Brought it for servicing and they solved problem 2 by reloading software but not problem 1. Tried using for a week and the LG GD880 dies in the early evening, so I have to constantly carry two phones with me. All I did was use the talk function for about an hour. I was told the heat generated is a "phone feature". Well they should've included that in the pamphlet when I bought the phone because I'd have definitely stayed away. I'd advise to totally avoid this LG model.

err, SE W880 is thinner than TG01 at 9.5mm. How can TG01 be the thinnest then? If you mean current market, that's fine, but it is not.

I've brought one and have been using it over the last few days. On the positive side:
- the screen is responsive and quick. After one day I discovered it still had a plastic screen cover on the tempered glass - it wasn't easy at all to tell there was one - and after removing it made it more sensitive to screen gestures including pinch/expand
- the OS is quick, but then by comparison I have been using a HTC Touch HD which is quite slow. There are no lags like on WM devices.
- the Wi-Fi is quick to connect and very fast to download
- it is slim and thin, unequaled in that regard. I considered the shorter but fatter Sony X10 mini.
On the downside:
- texting uses a standard candy bar style keypad and has no QWERTY option, but web pages have a QWERTY keyboard - have to be precise with the buttons as the screen is not huge and therefore the keys are close together
- RSS feeds work fine until you open one and the feed appears in a browser in small text which is hard to use, its easier to use mobile formatted sites then the RSS reader
- Limited games and application availability being Java based but that may not matter to many
- Camera is good enough but not great
Ok, it's technically not a smartphone but does that really matter given the smartphone features it has?

Looks one of the best designed phone by shape. Hope the performance also does.
LG must ensure to have a long lasting battery as well.

This device serves to once again confirm LG as one of the best feature device manufacturers on the market. Whilst the focus at present is towards smartphone devices that are centred around app stores, etc, there is still strong demand for devices that offer great functionality right out of the box, and LG excels at this.

Agreed re: firmware. LG are really, really bad in this area and seem not to care to sort out bugs once a handset is out. I had 3 Viewtys, all of which were returned due to what turned out to be a generic glitch in the firmware. LG's response to this was effectively that they don't (and won't) do software updates, so lump it.

LG makes sleek designs,
But what's inside is crap. I hate their interface! And from the video demo, its hella slow as well!
Followed by NO-FIRMWARE-UPGRADES means no fan points from me.
LG sells gimmicks.

Oh my gosh,im tired, very tired of people complayining about phones without OS!
They are not smartphones, they are featurephones, and I think this phone is a winner in this counterpart, but why the hell people low rate it?
My unique complainings about it is the lack of flash (LED flash still being a shit,so it isn't the end of the world) and the low battery (I it is that size becaus e of the design)! So I would buy it!

If this phone ran Android 2.1 I would ditch my iPhone for it in a heart beat. As it stands I used to have the Arena and that was an awful, awful phone.

impressive how LG's S-Class has all the elements of a smart platform except 3rd party apps but Full Flash, Full Multi-task, Multi Touch on a non smart phone, gotta give them that.
But i still wish it had Android, it would have been the ultimate phone.
Nice work LG, nice preview GSMa
