Regarding Bada OS:
Apple and Nokia leaves less for operators from the pie, so operators asked Samsung to release more operator business friendly OS. Samsung is more oriented to sell hardware, not software. So Bada is for operators.

For the consumers, for the first day 100 apps is enough (how many Apple had?). Bada SDK will be released and there'll be no problems to port apps for a popular OS, that Bada will be in the feature indeed.

Android is not so popular, it will probably be, but phones and OS are overcomplicated for the most consumers.

And please, there're a lot of Android phones and sure will be, from Samsung too. But there'll be no phones with Apple OS - no choice, pay a lot extra for the name.

Basically based on specs, I think the S8500 Wave is a great phone! Thought I do have a question if its capable of document editing? (MS word, Excel, etc). In theory any phone that is java capable would be able to have it installed, right? maybe some one could clarify this...

The terms "Bada Boom" and "Big Bada Boom" are inspired by/from the Luc Besson's 1997 movie "The Fifth Element". Leeloo [Milla Jovovich] escapes from a hospital and crashes in the taxi-cab of Korben Dallas [Bruce Willis]. There she describes how her space-shuttle was attacked and destroyed with a huge explosion [Bada Boom].

This is the trouble with the neo-geeks. They know nothing and do nothing other than complaining and whining. And would buy gadgets only in order to show off rather than to enjoy the technology within. Get a life kids!

Dear GSMArena admins, please ban terms like WTF for the obvious reasons. Please?

If the price of this device is right it may sell very well. The company's recent devices across many platforms including its excellent feature devices running the company's proprietary operating systems, are very well featured and rounded offerings.

Im a samsung owner for the past 3 years. i really hope Samsung can spend sometime and put some efforts towards thier fan base concerns and never-ending modifications and fixations to thier devices... or this fan base will be no more..

making a mobile phone isnt about packing it with super components!!! its the OS, applications and games taht drive those compoents to thier knees (metaphorically speaking)

to come up with a new OS and totally fall in the same problems you had before .. thats just a shame.. i hope its just a problem that can be fixed....

here is what im referring to (from the review)
"Unfortunately, there is no text reflow (dynamic refitting of text to match the width of the display port). Its job is to make sure the text won't run too wide, so that each line of text will fit horizontally on the screen (hence no need for horizontal scrolling)."

WHY!!! i have been plauged with this side scrolling on my Samsung Jet as i open a text file and as i brows the net.

there are other things that are so minor but add so much goodies to user experience that SAMSUNG has to pay attention to before releasing any product..

its not about making the device.. its making the device and making user the users can make the BEST out of it in productivity and experiece....

Samsung is fake , they promised great things about Omnia HD but fkd it too!!!
They tempt people by telling great specs, but I promise you that those specs will never come into use.
We Omnia HD customers never got proper support with no application/games that uses it's capabilities.!!!!!!
They just sell their products and forget.

As I know, Wave doesn't support HSUPA. And HSDPA spec is wrong.
                                  Wave support 3.6Mbps for HSDPA

Another thing to note is that it is well suited for MS Windows Phone7. Guess this is what Samsung's Win Phones will look like.
