Nokia C5 review: Smart and trusty

12 May 2010
If you are on the hunt for a stylish smartphone but you run a tight budget, chances are the Nokia C5 is on your radar already. The compact Symbian-running handset looks well, costs little and can give you all the smart you need in a phone...

thepineapple1, 12 May 2010great in depth review. I've had the phone for 3 weeks now.... moreI concur completely, the display is the weakest i have seen in a recent phone in this class for a long time. It ruins an otherwise excellent phone. The reviewer must be blind!

Easily the best phone for the price! I don't need WiFi in my CP. I also don't use CP in an angle. Thanks for the review, GSM Arena!

Thank you GSM Arena for a great review of the C5 (The best on the internet so far).
              I have the SE C902
Major flaws: No 3.5mm audio jack, M2 instead of Micro SD Card),
              Good points: Killer 5mp camera
and it is great to see it still mentioned in a review.

                  • Consider also E52

E52 solves most of issues with C5, but of course it costs a bit more.
In any case, E52 has bigger and better quality display, better camera, and WLAN. Both are good smartphones in ITU-T keypad category.

                    There is small bug:
In Key features you say its have carl-zeiss autofocus camera and in second site when you write about buttons you say it have fixedfocus camera

                      great in depth review.
I've had the phone for 3 weeks now. I noticed you briefly mentioned the screen, maybe blinded by your hatred for the memory slot. That 2.2" screen has the most epic flaw that no phone should have. It becomes utterly useless when turned to the slightest angle, really strange how you did not notice this. And when the image is black, it just looks like a mirror, even in a pitch black environment. turn the phone right it becomes incredibly bright, turn it left and the contrast goes berserk and your image will showing up negative.
all in all, with the current phones available, im still happy with my purchase. The upgrade to this phone would be the E52, but its shape, and incredibly bad dpad, really kept me away from it.
