LG phones you've got competition!! The X8 is very similar to the LG Gt540 phone, both run on Android 1.6, 3" screen and have similar specifications. Now here is the big question - which one of these brands will update their phones to Android 2.1 and 2.2?? I hope the X8 will have the same price tag as the LG gt540 (£129 GB). LG take note, if you can't be bothered to support your phones, I'll take my money elsewhere!

x8 is way ahead than any nokia phone at this price. camera quality of nokia phone sucks, features sucks, looks sucks, sound quality sucks...just being loud is not good enough..clarity has to be there......just the battery life is better of nokia........

Hey,
I was about to buy a x10 mini pro or the htc wildfire but changed my mind due to x10 mini pro's poor battery life and wildfire's video recording capability (only 15 fps). Now saw the x8 and was pretty impressed with that even though it has only 3.2 mp camera, resolution is good HVGA @ 30fps, good battery compared to x10 mini pro. Only disappointed as there is no camera LED. Can anyone tell me about the exact battery life for daily usage (i.e, 1 hr wifi, enabled data connectivity, 1hr calls, normal usage).

Bricked, 28 Jun 201019 comments on this phone, and not one mention of the camer... more-iPhone is still begind with camera,every brand now has their high end equiped with 8 MPx camera or even 12 MPx
-and this is low end smartphone with midrange features so it shouldn't be compared with iPhone which is overpriced for its feature range

What kind of thinking SE did. They should just reuse Vivaz design and put plain Eclair or Froyo in it. Developing Timescape and Mediascape for newer Android just wasting time.

Regarding the version of Android, we can apparently expect 2.1.
The Sony Ericsson Product Blog is announcing "XperiaTM X8 will either launch on Android 1.6 with a subsequent upgrade to Android 2.1 a few weeks later or will launch on Android 2.1. The final decision will be taken on a market-by-market basis."

Sony Ericsson is now consistently LATE in releasing their models with OUTDATED tech but still charging a premium price for their phones!
