Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro review: Mini Me... ssenger

05 July 2010
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini pro will have to stand on its toes to be seen but it doesn’t have to yell to be heard. Small and boxy, this certainly is not just another mobile phone. The X10 mini pro will impress many with the degree of miniaturization...

Price wise, the X10 mini and mini pro are the same at Carphone Warehouse, only £199 on prepay, which is pretty good!

Callum Gill, 06 Jul 2010It looks like a nice phone, i have had a go on one and the ... moreBoth this review, and several of previews disagree with you about the keyboard, they think its quite good, and so do I.

Maybe you have larger hands, than me and the reviewers/previewers, but for the average person its not too small.

How well it will sell, well, that we dont know.

But it has a lot of potential.
On some markets, its not at all as pricy as the review makes it out to be.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2010Nice looking phone, and good news about the replaceable bat... morewhile the different at the thickest part is only 1mm, the mini is more curved than the mini pro. But sure, they could hade added a little cubic volume to the mini, and had a replaceable battery, but it wouldnt have been exactly as small.

It looks like a nice phone, i have had a go on one and the touch screen is wonderful, however its too small for the qwerty keyboard and i dont think it well sell that much.

Nice looking phone, and good news about the replaceable battery. This type of phone kitted-out with a higher-res screen (like the LG GD880) and a slightly more mature OS would have a lot of appeal

Makes one wonder why the X10 mini doesn't have a replaceable battery - only 1mm more thickness inlcuding a Slider on the 'Pro' version: SE seems to have over-sized the keyboardless version and tried to play 'Apple Games' with its customers...

Hopefully they've now realised their mistake and will keep the user-replaceable battery in future models

                        Remarkable little fellow this one.
Tried it out yesterday and it is really fast and intuitive. I did like the X10 mini before, but with the added keyboard this little phone is solid.
Then 2.1 and 3.0 is coming up later this year.

                        I find it: Excellent!

                          Standard battery, Li-Po 930 mAh Talk time Up to 3 h 30 min (3G), screen 240 x 320 pixels = useless.

I like this one a lot.
Tried it in one hand and the mini in the other.
It does not look taller. It does not look wider. It does however look thicker, as its not as curved. But in the pocket it makes no different, then it is as small as the mini.
The weight and the design make this look and feel as its higher quality than the mini.

the camera is one letdown. I wish it was a little better... and how cool wouldnt this thing be if it recorded 720p. But I think the CPU isnt up for that, so we will probably not see that in the future.
the OS is a letdown... a promise of 2.2, would make it a easier choice... you do want to be able to save apps on memorycard. and you do want flash for online videoclips, among other things.

Now let just hope Sports-tracker has their eyes set on Android, and bring the app with pulsebelt support for this thing.

bbq, 05 Jul 2010is this phone designed for kids? what's the point of a touc... moreget serious!
A small phone fits in anyones hand... may it be a young person, a woman, a man. A big phone does not fit in anyones hand!
A small phone fits in anyones pocket, a big phone does not!
A small phone fits easily in anyones bag, and even the smaller pockets, thats smart for organizing your bag! The same does not go for a big phone.

A small phone looks perfect when you use it as a music player. A calculator. a camcorder. a digital camera. A big phones look clumpsy when you use it for those tasks.

A small phone good be a good training partner, and you are likely to find a small bag or pocket to have it in while you excersize. The same does not go for big phones, then you almost have to get an expensive bag contructed for just that phone.

the phone is designed for 1thumb operation.
I'd love to use one if i don't already own the x10 =D

There's a huge market for mini's and there's a huge market for qwerty keyboards.

And as far as I can tell, there's nothing out there like x10 mini Pro.
                                  This gadget is wicked!
