It may look like an iPad, but a more appropriate comparator would be the Dell Streak. It has full telephony features, SD card slot and camera, so unlike iPad you can actually be productive with it, rather than just consume.

Just cannot understand some comments. Because Apple made tablets popular, it doesn't mean other companies cannot make their own "Ipad clone/killer"(for want of a better phrase.)Using this kind of 'logic' would mean Apple shouldn't have gone into the mobile phone business, and if they hadn't my Samsung Wave may not have existed.

Guys,
This "Palm Book" will cost about Euro 699 and is expensive than IPAD. For those who have lots of extra monies can go ahead buy the overpriced toy. The rest of you and myself included, be patient we just for the next product with good functionality. This is FROYO 2.2 era. I am sure there will be other brands coming up soon. Samsung is just showing off, just because they are the first to invent the PALM BOOK with Froyo 2.2 plus phone features, they think they can rip off our monies easily.
"Somesong" is making a big mistake. Let them produce the thing and they will find out that they are overproducing soon.
Dell, Motorola, HTC, Nokia, Sony where are you all hiding?

i seriously DOUBT this thing would have even been existed in the first place if it wasn't for the ipad. i mean seriously, none of these guys took tablets seriously, especially not samsung. but when the ipad had a success.. BAM! suddenly, everyone took tablets seriously. apple inspired all these biitches to make these tablets. even engadget says the ui of the galaxy tab is a complete 'ipad for kids'. apple always starts the trends.
