LG GD550 Pure review: Slide and go

07 September 2010
Big buttons and no questions asked. Believe it or not, that’s what some people still look for in a phone. The LG GD550 Pure is playing it safe – less tech inside means fewer things to go wrong. This is less a gadget for those who think old...

No way is this a phone for me, however its ideal for my parents.

Simple is GOOD for them (& by extension me too, as they don't keep asking me how to do stuff).

They want a solid phone thats going to last a few years, with the ability to make calls, send a few texts, maybe take a basic picture, all without confusing them.

I like (for them) the big buttons, the ring/silent switch, the slide to lock everything, the simple interface.

But 200 euro is a bit pricey, maybe in 6 months to a year or so or with a cheap contract...

Thanks for the review, I was interested in this one. Too bad about the camera, especially because 6700 slide and Hazel apparently have better ones...

Additionally, since when is a 'very basic UI' a con? Just because a phone isn't overloaded with features doesn't mean that it isn't good for the target group it is meant for. Not everyone wants or needs a smartphone.

                GSMArena,
what happened to you? You used to be very objective when reviewing phones!
