A weird stuff from LG, Optimus 2X was a DUAL CORE with nice hard ware spec but its video player doesn't play MKV format! While Optimus Black only SINGLE CORE with much much lower hardware specs can play 720P MKV smoothly ... why LG!?

Why is it that gsmarena always have to pretend AMOLED is an advantage? In the Final Words here also they present samsung as alternatives because of AMOLED. The IPS lcd of Optimus 2X is an advantage, and AMOLED is a disadvantage. Except for battery life IPS is better in all ways. I hate teh visible grid of amoled and that the samsungs amoled screens has a strong blue tint, and that they get even more blue when viewed from an angle.
If you buy an Optimus 2X then consider the display an advantage over other phones. Clear, no visible matrix, superior natural color reproduction, long life. Im currently using a NOkia N9 for my main phone and the AMOLED is the only thing i would want to change about it. IPS or SLCD.

I think it is high time that GSMARENA people updated their review with the gingerbread running optimus 2x...froyo cud never justify the prowess of optimus...

Some of these "disadvantages" aren't really a problem
The audio quality being average is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage, it's just average
The screen not being as impressive as on the iPhone is also not a disadvantage, the screen is still very impressive, an advantage over many other phones, you wouldn't say that the 1Ghz dual core processor is a disadvantage because it's slower than the factory-overclocked 1.2Ghz dual core of the Galaxy SII.
Finally, not having Gingerbread from launch is just a slight inconvenience, it now has Gingerbread and LG has confirmed that it's working on releasing Ice Cream Sandwich for it.

The phones software is extremely bad.
I have a HTC Desire HD loaded with a pre-release official Sense 3.0 ROM installed.
It's super super smooth when on home screen and leap view, there is no lag whatsoever.
A friend has the 2X and I used it for a while and it was horrible, lag everywhere and terrible.
The CPU is nice and powerful but the software is HORRIBLE.
The HTC has a half as much power and it's better.
I'd really suggest going with a Samsung or HTC phone instead of this.

i had bought this phone but wen i inserted sim card it used to get excessively heated wen charged n wen someone used to call me there was no response by d phone. so i exchanged it but d new phone too had similar prob, but den i deleted my sim contacts n from that point its just a gr8 phone, its very fast compared to iphone 3gs very good dislay n sound quality is also fine. speaker is not very loud but audible. battery is an issue for heavy users but for normal use(2 hour gamimg, 1 hour net n other stuff) also u will hav to recharge it every day, other all is fine n by d way all d smartphones hav 1 prob or another, no phone is perfect considering the price

Issues:
1. Software is totally FUBAR'ed (F@#$#$ up beyond all recognition)
2. Keep the phone aside for 30 miniutes+ after browsing anything on phone, you will NOT RECEIVE ANY MORE CALLS- you will not even know that
3. Battery charging software is totally bad- VERY VERY BAD. It will not charge even if you keep the phone to charge over night. sometimes, after full charging, the phone shuts down.
4. Power button does not work all the time.
5. Screen gets stuck (but this is a minor issue) compared to point#1
6. while typing message, many times, the first charter that has to be typed - has to be typed multiple times before it appears on the screen..
BAD- BAD -BAD- I bloody have to shell down 27000 for this which does not even have the basic things going.. If I wanted to play games, I would have gone for Xbox- why the hell should I pay for this Piece of SHI@!

Can anyone comment on music quality of Optimus 2X ? Gsmarena say its only average. By the time LG releases android 2.3 gingerbread, Google will be ready with Android 2.4 Icecream Sandwich release. Will LG optimus 2x get that update ?
