I own this phone from Fido(Canada) as soon as it was released, now that's my 1st Android so basically i'm disappointed of both!!!
The goods: screen, music sound quality, keyboard.
The bad: battery: not even close to one day.
There is NO multitasking at all!!! (if you watch a video on youtube and someone calls by the time you pick up althou it can't figure out which to show, the youtube resets, if you had websites they crash...
try and press the camera button while playing music and most likely one of them would show a "force close" button. if you play a game and exit to home screen, it will take a while until you see which icons you have there on your main, they will lag so bad that #$#%^#$^#@^ (i'm sorry i'm cursing myself for paying 400$ for cheap plastic, how could i been so stupid).
And the most annoying part!!!: if on a call on bluetooth and while talking you do something else like reading from a website, or reading a document with 43 pages and the person hangs up... the phones locks and the screen shut, so you unlock it but yet again if it was a website or a long document you WILL start from the beginning! 1ghz??? it needs sandy bridge to run!!! even my old N90 could take a decent video while having a conversation and play music at the same time and still had a battery for 3 days!!!
Who ever reviews it high is getting payed BIG TIME.
And don't get me started what happened when i called sony because i though it's only mine that does all that!!!

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (SE Iyokan) MK16i has already been released for quite some time now, some countries even for as long as three (3) full months ago. So what will it take for you to make a decent review and comparison about it? We'd like to know how the screen legibility fares in direct sunlight compared to Samsung Galaxy SL I900SL / Galaxy Ace (Cooper) GT-S5830 / HTC Desire / A / HD.

All i know is that there is no way in hell i am ever again buying a SE phone if they dont update the first gen of xperia androids (x10, x8, x10mini). I have a x10 and a x8 and im pissed at SE for not giving a damn about their customers. If they dont want to update their phones, fine, but than open up the bootloader so we can update them our selves.

How can SE become the number Android phone manufacturer when they cant even satisfy their X10 users? Or is the basis for being number one is the amount of units you sell rather than number of happy customers?
Its just sad to see SE bragging about their new products when they cant even satisfy the needs of the people who bought their older products. I cant believe my Xperia unit has become Xtinct in just a matter of months.
Try getting stuck at 2.1 and them telling you that i can get the best user experience at this OS version. Pretty cool huh? So better ask them to what OS their new phones would get stuck on to before buying. For sure they would get stuck at some point when they got newer phones to sell

If this phone can run games like PS2/PS3 can, then I may have this. Or how cool it is to control PS3 with this thing.

I'am really sorry, for that SonyEricsson doesn't care the conservative customers.
I would like a phone like T610 or D750 which was my favourites, and I used them so much pleasure.
Now I have a touchscreen smartphone, but I really-really-really hate it. HATE.
A would like a small, compact phone,(what you can put in to your pocket) with at least 5mp camera, and strong music player capability, with gps, and wlan.
Like SonyEricsson ELM, but finally with mini usb, and SD card support, and a good build qulaity, maybe made by metal.
But no, SonyEricsson just ignor us.
I will buy nokia 6700 gold, howewer I hate nokia...

AnonD-252, 18 Feb 2011Even HTC Desire S will be a better choice for gaming, it ha... morewhy do you think those specs alone matter?
i think the Play can run the games smooth enough already. ive played emulated psx games on my phone, and tbh i cant play real time games properly. its the hardware buttons that matter the most. see the hands-on video and youll understand.

play, 17 Feb 2011Cedar and spiroYes, I know there are Cedar and Spiro. Nut those are not mcuh of a low ender.
You know, hones like Cedar and Spiro are too expensive in some countries. Sony Ericsson needs to cover fogotten markets segments and niches, like ultra-basic phonmes (a new J-series phone, for example), something with no extra but perhaps a flashlight. Samsung, LG and Noia have phones for calling and texting in a price range where even a 1.3 mpx camera is an unwanted luxury.
Cedar and Spiro are more advanced and more expensive than, say, Nokia 2690. Theren is no model from SE thata can compete against Nokia 1800 or 1551 or C1-xx, for example. That's what I'd like to see.
I have a Nokia 3500 Slide and the closest model from SE avaliable here is C510 which costs almost twice as much.

Play is bad design, why not simply use, and mark, some of the keys on the Pro keybord so I can play just like I use the keys on my pc-keyboard to play? The phone would then be more complete and usable.
Only 400 mb internal memory and only 380 MB RAM is not much for gaming? Galaxy S2 and Optimus 2X will be better for gaming!
