Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II preview: Second encounter

13 April 2011
Having earned its place in the Android hall of fame, the original Galaxy S can start thinking about retirement. And these won’t be thoughts of fear and worry. With a replacement on its way, the veteran can look forward to getting the respects it deserves...

The only reason that I don't get this phone is for the plastic build quality.

Fongy" Trust me the apps on the iPhone are no different, same old tired apps, just in a different package.
I think apps on any platform android or ios are too glorified, they're just a poor replacement for some of the desktop fuctionality you get on a pc. Apart from GPS there's nothing really to get excited over.
I have both an android and iphone, rooted/jailbroken with access to all apps for free(yes I know I'm a thief, so what) at the moment about 99.7% of apps are useless and are just an alternative to a proper browser. Also the apps that you truly might need they are usually available accross all platforms, gps/weather/office/email.

              HELP!
Well, I've read all previews of all mobile phones now...
              Looking to upgrade soon...
              And I'm wavering a bit...
I've had Android now for a few years, and I love it.. love the customisation, individuality, I love being able to drag and drop movies and series and music and photos just like that...
              I love widgets...
              BUT
After a couple of years now, I'm feeling that Android apps aren't moving anywhere, companies are still not taking Android that seriously...
Fantastic apps are coming out daily on the iphone (not to mention amazing retro and modern games) and I just wonder, despite this phone being a beast and amazing specs, if its the same tired apps you're using on it.. is it worth it?
I've resisted iphones for 4 years now... I just wonder with the forthcoming 5th one it might actually be worth taking the plunge?!?!
              SOMEONE STOP ME!
              :)

Samsung Kies is a Joke... Its no good... Specwise... This is what Google nexus S should have been... No point in having such high spec phones when you are not sure about the S/W updates not being available... For all you know... the phone will be getting only updates for 1 yr or so... and then its just a paper weight.

About f'in time that Kies become useful. Finally SMSing from the PC. I did it with PDAnet, but it never saved the messages on the phone itself.

I want to SEE some images shot in the DARK/LOW LIGHT.
Far near the object does the phone has to be in order for the tiny led flash to proparly light the picture?
