Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II review: Brightest star

13 May 2011
It looks like the point where it all ends. A galaxy outgrowing its own limits. An explosion of energy and speed. An overdose of smartphone power. A phone that makes you love the smell of Android in the morning. The likes of Samsung I9100. Update: Samsung Dive overview added...

this phone is better than iphone 4/5/6, combined.

This is the end of all competitions.

Agreed that this phone has raw power to handle heavy apps and videos but what abt gaming???
60 fps on a dual core sucksss... why don't they do it any better? And why don't samsung make their touchwiz any better ??? Touchwiz as usual looks very much cluttered like a 2yr old child's drawing...
And last and not the least design and body material... why would someone want a phone so much pricey with a copied design(even after copying iPhone this phone looks yuck...) and body made of such a cheap material ???

HTC sensation is better then this cheap plastic thing(especially touchwiz is no match for HTC Sense),i'll definately wait for Sensation...

AnonD-3713, 13 May 2011GSMArena seems overly excited with this Galaxy SII and ever... moreYou have a point there. There are many other Androids out there that will fulfill requirements for people on a lower budget. It's just the Galaxy raised the bar for Android. I've not tried any of the SE Androids, but it does look like they are profiting from Android themselves, and I'm surprised that they aren't using the might of Sony to take their displays to new levels.

GSMArena seems overly excited with this Galaxy SII and everything they discover about it, like the 1.5Ghz overclock and the 1080p on Youtube. Sure, it's nice and reveal all the processing power, but I wonder if that's really usefull in daily use. Come on, what's the point of 1080p video on a WVGA screen and who needs even more processing power that it already offer? But when it's about the 3D augmented reality browser of LG, GSMArena claims that they don't find it usefull. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fanboy of LG, in fact, I rather Samsung than LG, but I think that's just unfair and the hype about this GSII is scary.
Also, the plastic build quality is extremely disappointing for such expensive phone, and the design is just iPhonish much, moreover, I'm just not sure how easy is to handle a phone with a 4.3" screen, so I don't think that the Galaxy SII is the "ultimate smartphone" as a lot of people think, I think it's THE smartphone for geeks, but hardly better than most Android phones out there for "normal" people.

                  Excellent review!

Absolutely solidified my decision to buy this phone... As soon as it lands in Canada... It's gonna be long hard wait.

I don't know why, but GSMArena reviews assures me the most compared to other reviewers. lol

A true geeks delight. I'm not surprised that this is selling so well.
It looks amazing, but it's too wide for my liking and won't win over many potential female buyers.
The wide angle camera is a great addition. I had the Nokia N86, and that 8mp camera was really good. Dual LED would have probably pushed the price up even further so.
Apple could be missing out here, as I'm sure this phone will take a bulk off their sales, by people who are unwilling to wait for the iphone 5, and don't want the 4.

I think you made a tiny mistake in the last line of 4th page. Intead of "A9 Cortex" , you said "A8 Cortex" . You are welcome!

High feature but useless design and material... only for nerd, i think iphone5 will rule it against 2 android phones one for a good design and material but no updated feature and performance SE arc and a powerful loaded with feature but crappy & cheap design SGS2... until they release a phone called "Galaxy arc", i'll wait for Iphone 5

Okay, it's a powerful phone but is also ugly and plastic. The design is quite similar to iPhone's one. This applies to LG phones, too.

Very Nice phone... Practically the best fone ever. But I'd prefer MOTOROLA Atrix which is available at a better price.

lets see what Iphone 5 will come with.

                                      top 5 fones:
                                      Samsung Galaxy s II
                                      Motorola Atrix
                                      LG Optimus 2X
