Also worrying that they review pre-release models, for the sake of having the reviews sooner. No way to know if the audio and other tests apply the same for the models people can buy. GSMARENA: please use pre-models only for 'previews'.

hi guys, i am going to be getting either the optimus 2x or sgs2 but i have no idea which to get. the optimus 2x is much cheaper but has reboot issues. the sgs2 is a LITTLE faster but has heating & yellow spot issues and is also more expensive. i need an honest, non-fanboy opinion :)

Ok I will explain the reasons I am no longer putting up with the Galaxy S2.
Here are my likes 1st of all.
Screen is nice.
Very fast web browsing.
Here are my DISLIKES
Camera/video are complete joke-VERY VERY POOR quality from the so called 8MP camera, funny how on every single shot I compare to my original Galaxy S that the S2 produce much worse pictures- Also must add its not that my S2 is faulty as my girlfriend also has S2 with very same results.
GPS= NO CHANCE- Constantly searching for signal and volume is impossible to hear.
OVEN GLOVES are required after 5 minutes holding this phone if your browning the web or doing anything that remotely uses power of battery- Its actually scary how HOT this phone becomes.
Phone automatically dims to half brightness when using the phone for 5 minutes with a message appearing saying- reduced power to save overheating.( maybe this will be fixed with firmware upgrade in future but my phone is Vodafone branded so this could be a long wait.
Battery life very poor compared to my original Galaxy S
The biggest fault I have with this phone is how poor the video recording actually is.
Auto focos is a complete failure, constantly in and out of focus and takes about 5 seconds everytime to focus.
EXPOSURE when recording video takes roughly 10 seconds to correct itself, what I mean by this is if you take a video and recording out a window for instance into daylight then continue to video indoor in lower lighting conditions the exposure is complete joke.
I just cant understand why my Galaxy S records video so much better and takes much better photos.
Why also when recording video I am unable to press power button to lock screen to save accidently zooming like I could on Galaxy S
I knew this phone was too good to be true.

Just had Galaxy S 2's delivered today. Very nice bit of kit, just the back plate is a bit worrying as it feels like card. The spedd is re-donkulous. Used maps and internet and both have an epic refresh rate. I have to say samsung did amazing and the 2.3AOS is intergrated into very well. I believe that there are a couple of bugs in 2.3.3 but not updated yet. Easily one of the biggest releases this year for us. Just shows the caliber for APPLE to follow. Apple need to update the Processor and with iOS5 they could rival in some way.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2011Atrix too good for them. To good!? You must be sleeping. Atrix compared with Galaxy S II it's a shit of phone. Why compare a shit of a laggy phone with Tegra 2 cpu and gpu that lags in it handling in special in the browser and in the video?
Tegra 2 it have low performance compared with, Exynos. The best dual processors for smartphones are the Exynos 4210 and the St Ericsson U8500. No one can beat them.

Guys, just wait until the LG 2x will run the 2.3 gingerbread or the 3.0 honeycomb, then you will see the big difference of its performance. The hardware is already thier of the lg 2x.
