Nokia N9 review: Once in a lifetime

14 October 2011
When the first touch-only OS debuts on one of the hottest pieces of hardware this year, you can bet we want a piece of the action. Windows Phone is where Nokia want your attention, but it might turn out that MeeGo is the place you want to be. Not shown much love by its own maker...

The N9 have fm radio it just doesn't have fm transmiter. And the Firefox browser haves flash. Nokia could get the number one but they decidet to kill the N9 and get Microshits slave. The Lumia 900 would be awesome with a Meego witch is supported by more developers. The N9 is my last Nokia phone i don't want to support such a idiotic company. Windows phone is E(f)lop.

krish, 01 Feb 2012I am not agreed with the tag "Once in a lifetime".you should have to agree, N9 is once in a lifetime to be loved and kept.

Simply it generates sagnificantly more revenue then all Lumias and outeslls Lumias in units 4 to 1, 4 N9 on 1 Lumia, but counting all Lumia models combined together. The more important is that MeeGo Harmattan is developed and maintained by community. This makes number of software is increasing both free and commercial, paid. This means bussines opportunity, and managment sooner or later will have to answer shareholders questions like "wh you don't make money on MeeGo, Nokia N9 and software around when there is visible demand and market?" And answer can have personal consequences. So money and consequences talks for MeeGo and Nokia N9 - they are back in bussines, Nokia bussines.

Have had the N9 for two months and updated to latest software recently. There is still some lag in the interface suggesting a lot of room for optimization. I don't miss document editing capabilities as much as I thought I would. The facebook app is behind that of iOS but the html5 version is as good except for the lag. I am happy with my purchase, especially since it cost me no more than 2990 Swedish Kronor (ca 420 us dollars or 350 Euros) for the 16GB version. Unfortunately since Nokia has given up on MeeGo, I will go back to iOS after this.
