You read one part (about N8) of the reviewer's comment and ignored the rest (about 8MP shootout). SGSII is one of the most battery efficient smartphones around so your "battery sucking ability" argument doesn't apply. You are correct about the immense processing muscles though.
Besides, camera isn't my priority when it comes to choosing a smartphone, so the N8 isn't even in my consideration list.

Sadly, they both have same camera lenses. Nokia N8 had a different (not talking about mega pixels). So I just wondering why Nokia not use same lens as installed in old best camera phone Nokia N8?

GSM Arena for 8 mega pixels camera phones review it's right. I am Nokia fan but agree 100% with GSM Arena review because some review and research I done myself. Yes, if you exclude some new ultimate camera phones:
1. Panasonic Lumix Phone 101P
2. Sharp Aquos Phone 102SH
3. Altek Leo
then no doubt clear winner Nokia N8 in 8 or 12 mega pixels shooters.
But at present between 8 mega pixels camera phones it's best Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II and then Apple iPhone 4S! And iPhone 4S it's best video camera phone so it's why iPhone 4S become winner.
I will never buy iPhone for some reason (inc. don't like be dependent from Apple store), but I know that iPhone 4S it's one of the best camera phone.
If you guy's want at present time ultimate camera phone for photos, then buy in Japan Panasonic Lumix Phone 101P.
Also next ultimate photo camera phones are Sharp Aquos Phone 102SH, Altek Leo and old Nokia N8. Unfortunately these first two ultimate camera phones not available in many countries.
Sadly, Nokia Lumia 800 got same camera lens as in Nokia N9 so don't expect good camera performance.
So, I am Nokia phones fan but like true because it's helps us to choose ultimate camera phone.
Thanks GSM Arena for good review and wish one day to see ultimate camera phones review inc. old or new ones:

Ultimate camera phones I mean that with no or little noise with excellent quality photos if compare with all smart phones.

N8 is not included in this shootout to let the kids fight it out.the reviewer has already admitted that n8 was not included as they were not trying to find out the best cameraphone. So any amount of processing muscle and battery sucking ability can't make your beloved sgs2 the best camera phone.peace!

GSMArena really does knows how to sensationalize one article. This is just suppose to be giving a professional review of any mobile phone device without giving any drawbacks. Don't get me wrong, if GSMArena is not good at sensationalizing an article, the trolling will not be as bad as having an arguments between any mobile phone fans like this. I think, we should just be happy with what phone we really want and be happy with what other people really want. If that's the case, trolling would be a lot better than this.

SGSII was best for about 8 months. I'm happy with owning a phone that was best for that long. What's the big deal with saying iPhone4S is current best? There will be better cams come next quarter. It's not like SGSII's imaging quality becomes garbage once it's not the best. As it is reported on the article, iPhone4S is just marginally better so everyone needs to relax.
I'm just surprised to see the poor performance of N9 and Arc S.

What happened to the HTC Doubleshot/Mytouch 4g slide? It seems like it is always the forgotten one. Even though specs are similar to the HTC Sensation, I still hope to see a review of it (which there isn't even a full phone review of it).

What is it with U people?
The samples are there for U to look at Urself. I don't like philosophy of apple and I will never buy an iPhone but If U don't believe that its cam is so good, go to other sites, download sample pics Urself and compare. I have done that and I agree with GSMArena. Can't U people stand that iPhone is better? I had wished N9 would be kickass like n8 was. But that clearly is not the case.
And Please read the article title before commenting! Jeez, N8 will blow all these out, no doubt. But it is a 12MP cam. This shootout is for 8MP cams only.
And for all those whining why didn't U use this cam, Why not that, please understand that they can't include 20 cams and make a shootout. There is camera and Video comparison section there in the site. Go there and check what U want.
The only thing I wish is they could have replaced 1 HTC by LG (Say Optimus 2X instead of Sensation XE) as there are no LG handsets included in the test and 2 HTCs.
Grow up people. GSMArena is one of the very few sites who do unbiased reviews and editors don't troll. Now all you please stop trolling.

It's a very good comparison, thanks. And to all saying that it's biased with iPhone as winner. Come on! I'm not an Apple fan, just the contrary, i practically hate Apple. But just look at these samples. iPhone is a clear winner here. I'm very surprised to see that, but that is the true. What's funnier Arc having the same sensor, is so much worse... So we all have to admit, iPhone 4S has really good cam.

I am sorry gsm arena . But looking on youtube abit i beg to differ on video quality . It may be that in laboratory controlled enviroments that the iphone 4s will be the best . But real world is not a lab.
And videos on youtube clearly show the galaxy S II having better performance and more detail. Good example would be the pavement while your slightly moving the camera.
Good review still. Dont like it that crappy Iphones always seem to come first in every tests you make.

Great work by you guys for this in-depth 8MP camera smartphone shootout test. Now with the iPhone4S declared as overall winner. Now it's your task to take a ultimate camera smartphone test between iPhone4S, Galaxy S2(as it came as runner-up) and the current camera king the Nokia N8... Hoping to see that test from you guys.
