Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 review: Power play

16 November 2011
Tablets are cool. But they have a purpose too. Larger screens, higher resolution and more mileage out of the battery make them better suited for certain tasks. That’s why people are not only fascinated by them but do end up actually...

I returned my Galaxy S2 because it had a yellow banding on the left side of the screen, does the Note also have the same issue?

bought and switch to Galaxy note about 2 weeks ago..i love this phone!

battery lasts a day even with heavy usage.. takes good picture and lightning fast response.

The size isnt a matter to me as it's only 1" bigger than what i used to have..
    Absolutely loving this!

i don't know how to call this device...hmmmm...definitely not the size for a normal phone - 4.3inches are enough!!! - not a usual tablet - in my opinion, if you're gonna carry something in a case, then make it big like an ipad or a samsung 10.1 tab or a htc flyer or, or... - you could call this device a mini pad with gsm or a huge phone. you can't even reach the top of the device if you hold it in one hand :|

With Android 4.x this is the phone for me. Until then i will wait (or buy a nexus prime lool).

SDcard hot swap (or have to remove the battery) is not a problem for me. I have a 8GB on my current phone and never had to take it out. If i want to play/copy something on a device i either plug in the USB port or turn on the DLNA function...

Maybe the replacer of my Samsung Omnia Pro B7610, which also has a stylus to make accurate notes on it, and add a glid keyboard, but on WM6.5Pro.

The real replacer would only be a "Galaxy Note with a glide keyboard".

What is with all the iphone comparisons on here?!?!

This is a totally different player, different market... no comparison!

For people saying "it shouldn't fit in pockets, do ipads, etc. etc." - come on...

This is meant to be a mobile phone...

I, personally want to know if I can use it with one hand and whether it fits in my pocket, and whether or not I'm going to look like a gimp putting it to my face when taking a call!

I think this is dangerously too close to being too large...

I think 4.6" is probably the highest you can go
without it looking a bit silly...

I don't think the pen technology is quite there yet either...

                    BUT

As a first effort, it's amazing...
And who knows - this might actually take off!

I have no bias towards either brand, but having used one, can testify that even the iPhone 4 focuses better and shoots way better video than shown on the left here, never mind the 4S which as every review proves, matches or exceeds all other phones, even the otherwise excellent Galaxy Note. This video should be removed from YouTube as it is dishonest.

                                      AnonD-62, 19 Nov 2011lol.if gsmarena's test unit had it,it doesn't mean that all... moreSo Im a troll?
I consider to buy this phone, and has clearly expresed that.
You on the otherhand is trying to downplan an issue, that GSM-arenas testphone obviously has.
And call people who think that is a problem for trolls.

That gets me worried, does samsung have a hardware issue with the Notes, and have hired people to downplay that issue in forums.

If GSM arena has that prolem on a retail unit, its an real issue. And if you know something about technology and production, you can safely conclude, that GSM-arenas unit is not the one one with the issue.
If its a fault with their device, I expect Samsung to replace the unit, with one without a pink-spot.
I have yet to see proof that it does not have this issue!
GSM-arena seems to think, that its the model, and not the unit.
So why would I trust someone in a forum, that calls me a troll?
