Now in HD: Galaxy Nexus vs. Optimus LTE screen shootout

13 January 2012
Done pushing megapixels and well into pixel popping, still the good old numbers game. HD screens are the next big thing and they'd better enjoy it while it lasts, with quad-core around the corner and all. Anyway, is it just another number to brag...

I am happy they released this comparison, now all the people who think GSMArena is somehow tied to Samsung can go to hell. They clearly state its up to you, good to see a nice fair comparison.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2012So basically Samsung needs to release a Super AMOLED HD Plu... moreThey also need to work on the brightness. Maybe going from PenTile to RGB will fix that.

So basically Samsung needs to release a Super AMOLED HD Plus + a color calibration app and it would beat everything on the market.

GSMArena should do a comparison between the Rezound's S-LCD, AH-IPS, Super AMOLED HD Plus on the Skyrocket HD, and the LCD screen on the Sony Ion. That would be a definite read.

I agree that LG giving a better display but it's not only the display we buy.it is the whole phone package & Samsung(including pricing) is almost unbeatable in that.

Its about time LG step up the game on the mobile display market, samsung really needs a competition on the SAMOLED as they've been slacking so much on the quality control, a simple google search would show you how many issues are there on the SAMOLED Plus and HD SAMOLED screens. A dream phone would be a Galaxy Note with AH-IPS this would be sweet!

What about the power consumption then?
I'd assume the sAmoled is more effective at that area?

LG's best screens are brighter than anyone else's and also therefore the absolute worst with battery life, because everyone knows that screen brightness in the number one user of battery life. Therefore fail...

One thing that will definitely tip the scale to the Optimus LTE is the inevitable burn-in that will happen on Amoled screens.
